Which unconfirmed characters are you most hoping return as full time squadies?

Okay, so far they've confirmed:

Virmire Survivor
Garrus
Liara
Tali
James Vega

The character I'd most want to see return is Miranda.  She's my prime Shepard's love interest and a great support character.  I'd also like as much time as possible to admire her redesign, as all characters are said to have received one.

Second on the list is Grunt.  I know most people were hoping that the original Krogan squad member would be the returning alien tank but I think Grunt works better.  It makes more sense for Wrex to remain with the Krogan tribes leading his people into battle against the Reapers.  Shepard is also Grunt's battle master so it makes sense that he'd stay by his side.  At this point it's all but been officially confirmed that  Wrex is not a full time squad member so I'd say Grunt is our last best hope for a Krogan companion.

Then there's the quesiton of exactly how many slots are left?  We only know that the final number will be less then 12.  I'm guessing they split the difference between ME1 and ME2 and make it 9 which leaves 4 more spaces.  So, what does everyone else think?

Then Wrex.

This is a tough one, but I have to go with Legion. Legion is my brobot and they need a lot more squad-time than they got in ME2.

Legion must make a return.
Grunt
Miranda
Kasumi would be nice, but I was under the impression that DLC released other than LOTSB and Arrival were not going to make it into ME3 so I'm not sure she'll even be in the game.

Mordin. And Thane. And if I had to hope for another two, probably Jack and Legion. I'm sure I'll be happy no matter who they pick, though :)

Miranda for full time squaddie
I don't want any squad-mate from ME2 to be just a cameo...ugh (except the DLC characters but they were still well written though...)

Legion would be my number one, I just feel like there's so much more that we can learn from him. That and he was introduced so late, I'd just like to see more of him.

I'd also like to have Grunt and Jack back, especially after hearing the redesigns they have planned for Jack. I wonder if Grunt will get a similar treatment, perhaps his headplate growing larger like older Krogan?

I look for Mordin to remain aboard the Normandy, but I think he'll probably stay in the lab outside of maybe a few missions. If that's the case, I'd be okay with that - most of his best lines were there anyway. That's just my opinion though.

Jack, definitely. I took her with me almost everywhere in ME2, she's one of those characters I thought I'd hate but ended up loving and I can't even explain why. I'm not generally a fan of cursing or 'in-your-face' type characters, but Jack is the exception. I'm really interested in seeing her growth after the SM and I was so disappointed that you couldn't really get past her walls unless you romanced her. I hope she opens up a little more to FemShep.

Second would be Grunt. Wrex is awesome, but Grunt felt like Shepard's big krogan foster kid. He was oddly adorable. So proud of the (big) little guy!

Honestly after those two I would be perfectly content without any other additions. I love Mordin so he'd be my next choice, but I never really took him with me on missions, so I'm fine with him as a temporary squadmate or assisting in some other capacity. The guy's old, he can't go running around with soldiers forever.

Wrex, Samara and Legion are characters I like but wouldn't really care to see back full-time. I love Wrex but Tuchanka needs him more than Shepard does. Legion I feel was an interesting concept but I never connected with him as a character. Samara I grew oddly attached to considering the fact that I don't like the asari, but she has the least reason to stay out of everyone.

They said they are decreasing the squad pool, saying that 12 was too big. It's probable that the pool will be nine in size (between ME1's 7 and ME2's 12). So far we have 5 permanent pool squad mates. So that leaves around four.

Now from what I've heard, we will have temporary squad members for specific missions similar to LotSB with Liara. It's possible that squadmates we've had from ME1 and 2 will be temporary. I would throw in Legion, Wrex and Mordin as part of this list.

Also since there are no new LIs, this means that they are unlikely to bring in a new female human. By the sounds of it, Vega is supposed to be the representation of the new player to the franchise. He is supposed to be ignorant of galactic affairs.

miranda. she's my favorite love interest and she's a fantastic character whos actually fairly important to the story, far more so than a majority of the other characters. with the whole being completely loyal to you while being one of cerberus' top people which will undoubtedly help you in your fight against them significantly. also love the whole cold exterior with the warm gooey emotional center.

second would be Mordin. he's absolutely awesome. every scene with him is a delight, he was a pretty good squadmember in ME2, always burning off armor really fast. mostly though, simply because he's such a wonderful combo of absolutely hilariousness and real insight into the moral and ethical dilemmas that plague science sometimes.

no other characters bring as much personality and raw story potential than mordin and miranda.

The cool thing about Mordin was that he was hyped before you first saw him. Aria and the dying batarian said a couple of things about him that made you think "Wow, what a badass."

Now in Mass Effect 2 we heard a couple of things on Illium about a guy named Thax. We don't know who is is, but he's probably a badass. That's why I want Thax on my team.

I'm betting James Vega won't be the only new squad-mate in ME3

Here's hoping for a Batarian squadmate...

But back on the topic: definetly Mordin. And that's the only one I need to be back permanently.

I hope he is. I really don't want to waste time getting to know a bunch of new characters in the last installment.

Same here. We have one game left with these characters we've grown to love, don't shove them aside for the sake of novelty.

Unfortunately, Casey Hudson hinted at new characters on his twitter, I just have to hope if they're squadmates that they're temporary ones.

Kasumi.

In my not so humble opinion, she was the most interesting and fun NPC out of the lot of them. Her story tugged at the heart-strings. Her abilities were all useful in any situation. Her comments as a squad-mate were almost always funny or interesting. She was just plain cool and her personality was the sweetest and least whiny of all of the NPCs. And it was nice to have a female party member who DIDN'T want to get in my pants. All up, she was just a fun NPC to have along for the ride and I'd hate not to have her by my side in ME3.
