the only one i would feel about returning would be thane. cus well. he's dying. he only had a couple months left in ME2. ME3 takes place a couple months after ME2. so yeah...

no other characters bring as much personality and raw story potential than mordin and miranda.

Yep. Miranda and Mordin are the best. But wIth Mordin I'd be content to be able to speak with him several times, while Miranda is the one I want at my side. Miranda and Shepard will push each other's awesomeness to a new order of magnitude.

but I don't need him as a squadmember....I will be content just to have him on the Normandy where I can have a funny conversations with him while the galaxy is on fire....
