is it possible to make things like potions/traps from your party members while in camp?

Ive not found a way yet if it i possible so just wondering if it is.

Nope, just the player is active in camp. Think your forced to go outside but at least tha merchant guy has some unlimited supplies to stock up on before you wander off

Sadly, no, despite the fact that it would be the most logical place for it to happen.

No, but it's easy enough to take the henchmen you are using for crafting and go back to town and then back to camp to switch to your "combat" party. If you have specific team preferences, though, you can make sure they get the right skills. The main hub towns let you switch parties directly without going to camp anyway. On my first playthrough, I had specific party members I used more than others, so I just respecced them to have the crafting skills I needed, thus avoiding having to go back to camp too much. If you give them combat and then each one line of crafting, you should be ok, as this is only 8 skills even with the slow skill progression of mages and warriors.
