Besides, my flatmate is scared sh*tless of spiders, and I like being a bastard and showing them to him every time i catch one bare handed. One of these days I will have to record his girlish shriek to play to his girlfriend.

Admittedly the massive ones are probably just as stealthy as the small ones, but in my mind they arent so I am not as frightened of them.
For example I am not frightened at all of pet tarantulas, cause you know where they are at all times (either in thier tanks or crawling on you)
Apparently when tarantulas are happy they try to blow air into your ear. That sounds creepy to me.

Okay, so I am indeed terrified of spiders, but I had to get over it a bit when I got married. Girls aren't the only ones afraid of spiders, and therefore I have somehow become the designated spider-killer in the house.

Why are they not considered cute? Because they eat everything by posining them and drinking them alive....incuding their young.XyleJKH wrote...

The spiders in that picture are actually very small, about the same size as house spiders where I am.

Yeah, I am in the north of england, and many of the spiders here range from about 2/3rs of the size of my hand to slightly larger than my hand (I fit size medium gloves uncomfortably tightly, but size large is just a shade too large)
Admittedly they arent as "beefy" as camel spiders, but in terms of area covered.

You live in england and have giant spiders? I live in florida and the largest house spider is Daddy long legs.....But we do have hordes of common Lizards so most spiders get eaten off before even being seen.hc00 wrote...
