About the main topic. Priestly said to don't take anything as confirmed until we had Casey's or his word. Now we have it. Tali haters lost, we won.

I'm disappointed, though at least I can hope I get Kal'reegar instead because she died.

I wold really like that to.  Would probably go back in a FemShep playthrough and get her killed if I could get Kal.  I love Tali as a character, but I would do it at least once to get Kal'reegar.

I don't think there's going to be replacements for dead characters. BW stated that the cast of ME2 was too big... thei're going to improve the already existing squadmates in ME3, more than adding so many other new people. But Kal is awesome, I understand why someone would like to recruit him and not Tali.

Remove Kal's famous voice actor, and I swear that people's opinion of him would change in an instant.

Please stop using retarded as an insult. Retardation is not a term to be used lightly:

"No. Its not an opinion. Its a fact.

Samara devotes her life to a retarded set of morals/rules that make absolutely no sense. She also incredibly hypocritical saying that she will kill anyone that gets in her way regardless of if they are innocent or not, then says she will kill you for doing anthing that is regarded as being wrong in her code."

If you can't see how that is an opinion and not a fact, then there's no point talking to you. Wilful ignorance=stupidty.

Also, I may not agree with all her morals, but they do make sense in context of a more black and white code. Also, the kills may be justifiable to some degree by our own standards as if she does not resist arrest, for example, she cannot continue to enforce her code.

Remember though, she comes from a different culture. In the same way people 100 years ago had different morals and standards, so do we today.

Wow, if you honestly think her code isnt retarded than you are an idiot. It makes no sense in any context. I wonder why no other Asari other than justicars feel that way. Possibly because it is a culture that contradicts galactic law and common sense. The fact that she agrees with it speaks volumes about her character. If she isnt retarded, then she does a lot of retarded things.

Bioware had said that for any dead characters there would be a relevant replacement so people wouldnt be 'punished' by having people die in the final mission of ME2.  I dont have a reference for that but I remember reading it somewhere.  So Kal might be a reasonable replacement for Tali if she dies, just speculation though.

Edit:
Though those replacements are likely to be 'generic' and wont have near the same content as the 'survivors'.

Stop throwing names around and calm down. We can agree to disagree, but my main problem is the way you do it in is very offensive, proved by you calling me an idiot and throwing terms like retarded around after two people asked you not to.

If you want to discuss Samara and her code further, do it in her fan thread. They will be able to provide deep and interesting answers to your ignorance-that is, if you actually want to accept different view points. So far you've insulted everybody who disagrees with you, and said you are speaking "fact," meaning everybody disagreeing with you is a liar.

Now I'm off to sleep. Argue all night that you are posting hard facts if you want, but it isn't gonna change the truth. Your opinion=/=fact

That's a pretty stupid thing to do, if you ask me. Completely negates the consequences of the suicide mission if they're just going to put in replacements in the next game.

I reckon we should be punished for allowing crew to die in ME2. I know the death can be seen as a punishment in itself but I'd like to see that taken further. The death of a squad member is a loss and it should be felt in the next game.

@Quole: The justicar code doesn't make sense to you but that's because you're human and have been brought up with your society's values and opinions. We understand what we know. Just because something doesn't fit into our view doesn't make it stupid or wrong. It's just different. :)

The problem I have with the code is that it does not just contrdict the values and morals of humans, but that of everyone. In a society where killing innocents is clearly regarded as wrong, it makes no sense for a group of people to to find nothing wrong in doing just that. Samara is a perfect example because she is suppose to symbolize justice, but in reality her whole code contradicts the idea of justice that her people (asari) and everyone else has created. This is made worse by the fact that she threatens to kill you if you do anything that her code deems as wrong. Which is something she does herself because her code allows her to do it. Do you see how it does not make ANY sense?

She also does a lot of incredibly stupid things, such as killing prisoners instead of interogating them to get information that she apparently needs.

eh, as long as they make Miranda a perm-squadmate I'll be ok.

Tali was so annoying in ME2. I loved her in ME1, but I don't know what changed.

Hopefully Miranda will die in the intro.

Typical tali fan.

Okay, ... my dear forumites. This topic has gone down the closet ever since the first answer. I thought you people could for once act like a civilized being and not start a retarded flame war about what characters you like and who not.
And if you can't resist, I would at the very least have expected you have the smarts to actually form a coherent discussion, but instead all I am seeing is: "You are wrong, I am right, [Character X] is like da shiznit and you fail life forever for not seeing it.".

I will straight out name it:

That is pathetic.

This topic is reported for spam, flame war and personal attacks. Have a nice day.

Actually the justicars are highly respected and revered in asari culture. In fact, one conversation on Illium about her, an asari law enforcement agent pretty much says "We aren't worried that the justicar will kill an asari, we would simply assume they deserved it, we're afraid she'll kill another race who doesn't show the same respect and reverence of the justicars".

They were afraid she'd create a diplomatic incident. If you do something against the justicar code, you are considered guilty, not an innocent person any longer. Therefore killing you or anybody "guilty" is a service to the galaxy by their logic. If a person hinders the goals of a justicar they to are no longer an innocent bystander but intentially getting in the way of justice and are now guilty.

I'm not defending their code and if you have a problem with the justicars, that's fine, I don't care either way. But your argument that it goes against every culture, including the asari, is wrong. If you have a problem you have a problem with the whole of asari culture. Which again, is completely fine.
