Overall I enjoyed it, and it was a refreshing change from being the "bad guy" in the GTA games. It isn't a game for people lacking in patience. GTA it isn't. Looking over the crime scenes takes a while to find all the evidence (on the first play through, anyway), and when questioning people you really have to pay attention to what they are saying and try to catch them out when you have evidence that they are lying or think they are holding something back.

It would have been quite nice for them to give you the option of picking up the cases when you want. It felt odd exploring or doing street crime events when you were on one. (which you always are). Though you do get the option of free roam from the main menu.

The ending disappointed me. It felt like it was the way it was just for dramatic effect because they didn't know how to finish the story otherwise. I was really just... meh at the ending.
I think it would have been a good idea to have had a scene near the start with Cole with his family to establish that part of his background. I couldn't really relate to him because he seemed like just a crime solving machine.
Also, how he came to know Elsa wasn't really explained (unless I missed it) which seemed abit odd.

Also it seems that every criminal in the city is a free runner.

That's just my $0.02

Edit: Forgot to mention the facial animation stuff is really incredible, but their faces looked abit blurry, really. Could've done with better textures. I hope though that this new tech is used in more games as it looked very real.

That's it? It seemed like he knew her before that somehow.

Nevermind, then.

The ending was dissappoiting. you spend 3/4 of the game as one protagonist and then the last two missions your someone else. This is done even though your character is still alive. Who's the hero? And I made a mistake of thinking it would be like Red Dead Redemption were you can go and finish the sidequests after the main storyline was done. Nope. After the credits if you hit resume it starts you off at the last mission of the game.

I can't recommend this game for it's full price. It was a great story though.

on the startup screen scroll up or down to where it says cases.
Pick any desk and chose the streets of LA option.  <<< its free the free roam option without the cases.
