We need an explosives expat. I had to settle for my Fem!Shep using her Geth Fire-flinging Shotgun and Flamethrower in ME2.

What facts? the ones you make up that include jack in the list.  No i'll wait for the real list from Bioware which will in no way resemble yours.

Hmm I think we're getting at least two or three new members, like a batarian. I really doubt Jacob will be returning, as he was probably the most unpopular character, instead I think that Mordin and Legion will be the returning ME2 squadmembers, with maybe Thane/ Jack aswell.
I really hope we get more returning squaddies though, sure I like the characters so far but it would be great to get some new faces.

From all the "squadmates in ME3 threads" it's clear bioware kinda dropped the ball in ME2 I think. They introduced waaay to many squadmates, and even worse any of them could die in the suicide mission. If only the original squadmates from ME1 (that includes tali and garrus) make it as permanent squadies, ME2 loses some of it's weight. Because besides the fight against the collectors, the story/missions/the-whole-freakign-game was about recruiting the best of the galaxy and gaining their loyalty.

Kind off a dissapointment if that was all for one mission, which turned was destroying an oversized terminator.

Thane is dying so I see him going in an epic suicide scenario taking down a reaper or maybe more

No love for Legion? He's probably one of the most likely returning Perma-Squaddies introduced in ME2 - its been looking for you for over two years, tracking down and scouring every planet you went to in ME1; was the only squadmate in Mass Effect 2 to track you down and ask to join you, not the other way around; appears to be built just so it can operate and communicate with Shep; went out of its way to repair bodily damage with some components of Shep's old Onyx hardsuit; and wants nothing more than to help Shepard and Co. to kick the Reapers "right in their daddy-bags". If that doesn't qualify as a Permanent Squaddie I don't know what does.

Where's that from? The wiki doesn't have anything on that yet

Game Informer. He might be a temporary squaddie, but he's definitely not going to be permenant.

You forgot we also need a Krogan. Add Grunt to the list and they'll suit me. No need for any of the lame characters like Thane.

Lame? Maker, have I traveled back in time or something? Quick, someone snail-mail me a memo! Honestly, the last time I heard someone use that word was back in '88 when a classmate declared Barbies "lame" compared to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. *sighs*

Moving on, my feelings on who will be part of a permasquad is thus:

Liara
Kaidan/Ashley
Garrus
Tali
James Vega
Jack

Some might think Grunt would be included, but if what I've heard of James is true, he'll probably be the token "tank." It seems unlikely Thane, Mordin, Jacob, Miranda, Zaeed, Kasumi, Legion or Samara will be anything other than temporary squaddies, but I've been proven wrong before, so there's always hope. Personally, I'd be fine with just Zaeed, Jack, EDI and Joker backin' up my Shep. Team Badass to save the galaxy from an imminent Reaper invasion. Take that you sons of glitches! Posted Image

I don't get why people don't like Thane, he was like the most bad-ass person in ME2, he is an assassin damn it! But sadly I think he won't appear in ME3 as a permanent crew member because he is dying and needs some quality time with his son Kolyat.

Jacob won't appear too I think James Vega is kinda the human male-replacement for him.

And I also don't think Mordin will be a permanent crew-member but just an intel source.

Well that's just monumentally stupid.  Leave out the character with the most story potential,  and instead include...

-Liara (A rather boring character,  especially in contrast to the Justicar,  who is largely helpless,  and who they had to come up with some convuluted story just to wedge her into an appearance in ME2 because she was so very one-dimensionsal and served no purpose)

-Ashley/Kaidan (An extremely boring set of one-dimensional characters who pretty consistently aren't able to manage any kind of problem on their own,  I spent 10 minutes trying to find a way to kill them both in ME)

-Miranda (An extremely one-dimensional character who really served no purpose in ME2 other than to pop up every now and then to say, "Cerberus is watching!")

-Jacob (While he's a well done character,  he doesn't have any story left either,  one-dimensional)

But they leave out Legion?  The one character who's story wasn't fully developed,  and could have yielded for a wonderful story-arc regarding the Geth and Migrant Fleet coming to terms,  and unloading a ton of pain on the Reapers,  as well as showing true artificial life and regarding Sherpherd as a Rolemodel.

Instead their going to include a laundry list of the weakest characters.

I don't expect Samara to be back, since Liara is in ME3. I also think she's better in battle.

Probably because Liara wears sensible shoes.  I always wondered why Samara and Miranda choose high heels for their combat footwear of choice.

Lol good point. Realistic combat gear. U can be feminine and still dress smart.

No Idea who is in. If they do Jacob, they need to fix him. Oh and get his class right like in Galaxy (sentinel not vanguard). And u know try on the black guy not just give him abs plus Kasumi and phone it in.

There are too many humans in your list. I want a Raloi!

I want a Rachni Queen.  I need a new vocal coach.

-Miranda (An extremely one-dimensional character who really served no
purpose in ME2 other than to pop up every now and then to say, "Cerberus
is watching!")

Give her a little credit.  She was exceptionally good at crouch "covering" on top of a box and taking missles in the face so you wouldn't have to.  But yeah, Samara was so much more than Liara in just about every possible way imaginable.  I couldn't stand Liara in the first game (so I refused to ever use her, no matter what), and thought she made absolutely no sense in the second, especially during LotSB.

So, by my mind, this is it:
-Liara
-Ashley/Kaidan
-James Vega
-Garrus
-Tali
-Miranda
-Jacob
-Jack
-Thane

If that ends up being the final crew, prepare to hear a lot of #^$@$ing and moaning over there being to many human squad members.

That squad sounds good to me though. Save for Jack, I really liked all of them (and even with Jack, I don't mind her.) My one change is for them to change up Jacob's skillset. He's suppose to be a sentinel not a Vanguard. It may overlap with Miranda and Kaidan, but my solution is to make him the Ken to Miranda's Ryu.

True there will be moaning but Bioware basically made ME2 pointless and humans are cheaper and easier. Its like Star Trek or Star Wars, u want a few aliens with mostly humans. 4/9 is not that bad. and grunt is probably screwed since most players did not bother taking him out of the tube. And obviously Kasumi and Zaeed are out.

Still yeah Jacob needs to be a Sentinel and they need to work on something besides his abs. Give him depth and coolness like all the others.

All they have to do is have him loosen up like Garrus did in ME2.

I can't wait for the E3 data dump so we can stop wringing our hands over "who is cool enough to make the cut" as a perma squaddie in ME3. Is anyone else tired of all the speculation?

I don't think Miranda is going to be a full squad member because of schedualing conflicts. It's too bad, while I didn't like her as a person, as a character she was pretty good.

Most people on this thread would disagree with you for the most part, and would probably only agree with you on Jacob being one-dimensional.

What the heck does that have to do with anything? What scheduling conflict? Besides even if there is one, I'm sure that since the game won't be out till early 2012, that they'll find a way to work around that mysterious "scheduling conflict."

I have heard this idea floated around the forums before.  Some people believe that Yvonne Strahovski isn't going to be able to do a lot of VO work for ME3, so Miranda's role would have to be limited.

There hasn't been any proof of this rumor and given the fact that the game has been delayed I fail to see how BW could not work around Ms. Strahovski's busy schedule.

I hope this rumor gets squashed at E3.
