My second question is should the Holy Smite's effect have been the mana clash effect? Templars are suppose to be feared by the mages and should be very capable of striking them down. However in the game, my mages can spit on the boots of a templar and not worry too much about that wannabe mage killer killing them. But if the holy smite ability was like mana clash it'd be a whole different ballgame. Templar fights in the circle would have been very difficult to keep a mage alive and knockdown and control tactics involving the whole party would have to have been utilized.
I wonder what others think.
