As the title of the thread states, every time i play Mass Effect 2, my Auzentech X-fi Home Theatre HD soundcard reverts all its settings back to factory defaults. Example; i'm running 5.1 surround sound and after playing the game, in my sound card options, my speakers are reset to 2.1 and equalizer, bass etc is all switched off after playing ME2.

I thought maybe it was my sound card but i also tried an X-fi Titanium Fatal1ty Pro in the machine and the same thing happened with that.

This problem does not occur when i play ANY other game. Only ME2. I believe there is a huge bug in the game causing this. I do not want to have to set my sound card settings EVERY time i finish playing this game. Please patch this fault.

Read this thread, and post accordingly. Also, if there was a huge bug in the game, others would have commented on it by now. They havent. Sounds like something unique to your build. Patches dont get written to fix one problem on one PC.

Nice job on the trolling, ignoranus. Just because your system is working fine does not mean others aren't having troubles with theirs.

There are numerous posts on this forum stating that players have been suffering crashes after DLC has been installed. The main crash to desktop hot spots in the game seem to be 1) illium, underneath Liara's Office in the alleyway 2) Inside the Shadow Broker's ship 3) In the Omega markets. Search a little and you will find such threads in this section.

Funnily enough, whenever i get a crash in any of those locations, my sound card settings revert back to factory defaults. My 5.1 reverts back to 2.1 with no Bass or Equalizer activated.

I do not get this problem in ANY of my other games.

The problem is evidently an incompatibility bug between Windows 7 64-bit/X-fi Sound card Drivers and ME2's Unreal Engine.

So what's wrong with replacing those bad drivers with different ones?

Well that's just it i've tried. I also tried using a different sound card. I installed my old X-fi Titanium Fatal1ty Pro and tried a couple of driver revisions with that too. Same crashes, same resetting of control panal settings. It's got my head battered.

Since my other games don't seem to have a problem with the Creative X-fi or Auzen drivers, it kinda points at the game engine being the ring leader of crahses. Especially since these crashes only began after DLC was installed.

Trolling? Get a grip you cretin. You ignored the "Read First" thread which tells you how to lodge an error report. You ignore simple logic that dictates there would be hordes of people screaming about this if it was a problem with the game resetting all X-fi sound cards. You also failed to mention that it was during crashes that the settings were reverted, you just made a blanket statement. Your searching for problems has also made you overlook, once again, thaht it is the PC build which is at fault (Under Liaras office is due to ATI 4700 series cards), moreso than the game.
You have 2 choices. Either lodge a proper error report as per the "Read First" thread, or sod off and deal with EA support, as they are the ones who are paid to put up with your childish whinging.
Read First thread can be found here;

Why post in this thread if all you are going to do is talk trash? That is a troll's reason for posting. And the crash problem under Liara's Office is NOT localised to ATI 4700 cards as i have suffered the crash using a GTX 590 and previously before that, with a GTX 580. You claim to know it all but all you do is insult. It's much easier to point a finger than it is to lend a hand. Remember that old saying: if you don't have anything good to say, then don't say anything at all.

You had no business posting in this thread.

1) You still haven't posted a list of stats for your machine.
2) Bognot1 may be a bit abrasive but then you completely ignored the Sticky "READ THIS BEFORE POSTING" thread.
3) You came in all fired up that the game is broke, and stated the grand it always resets your card.
4) Then you later posted it was only after crashes.
5) Still haven't tried to actually help fellow formites help YOU fix your issues by giving information and realize that Bogsnot1 has helped hundreds(at least) of people fix issues and does it for free.

6) Don't like the help you are getting, then go to the game publishers website and get support....EA.com=>Support. They get paid to deal with you, this forum is by users, who are trying to help for free.

I hear trolling is a team sport now. Not that you're gonna take any of this in but i'll humor u all the same. System specs are as follows.

EVGA classified E760 mobo, 12GB DDR 3 RAM @ stock 1600mhz, Core i7 980X @ stock, GTX 590 @ stock (also previously used GTX 580 which suffered same crashes), Auzentech X-fi Home Theatre HD soundcard (connecting to Logitech Z5500 5.1 surround speakers via component cables) - also used a Creative X-fi Titanium Fatal1ty Pro which suffered same crash and resets as the Auzentech sound card, 1200w Coolermaster Silent Pro Gold PSU, Windows 7 64-bit
