Thats exactly why i say that Jade Empire for the original xbox is a better game. The graphics, characters, story, mechanics, fight system are all better than DA2. I just beat the game and cant believe I waited this long to play such a wonderful game. Then you compare it to DA2 which is a forgettable and shameful abomination by comparison.

I loved JE the first time I played through. Ever since then I'm having a REALLY hard time getting into it again. I barely pass the first part and get bored of it. That's the reason I rank it lower than Dragon Fail 2

Pity, I still don't think it's Bioware's worst game... though I guess I just haven't played any worse Bioware games than Dragon Age 2...

If we include mods, expansion packs, DLCs, etc, Dragon Age: Origins moves up to #2 and Neverwinter Nights moves up to #3.

Well, since the DA2 bashing has stated again, I will point out that:Bioware still produces RPG's that well exceed the majority, and have the record to prove it. While DA2 is not my fave game, it is still a good game, and far, far above the mass of mediocrity available on the market.

Personally, I think if a AAA developer with over 15 years of experience with almost half a dozen GOTY titles has to compare their latest title to games that are low budget and as you say, mediocre, to be seen as good, well then...

Not to say that Dragon Age 2 is a bad game, I think it's average myself, but the "it's good because it's better than crap" line really should not be applied to Bioware.

Yes, it's somewhat unfair to judge the company with higher standards, but it's the price of success. And I actually don't think Dragon Age 2 is a good RPG in the sense of the word. I'm inclined to think that Dungeon Siege 3 is going to be more of an RPG than Dragon Age 2. But, those are just based on what I consider to be the important elements of good RPG design. So it's just my opinion.

Imagine if Skyrim was an utter disappointment and people tried to defend it with "well, at least it's better than Arcania: A Gothic Tale".

I don't think that would make a compelling argument, honestly.
