Have yet to play DA2, but I'm compelled to chime in:

> Mass Effect
> Dragon Age: Origins
> Mass Effect 2
> Jade Empire

I never played the older BioWare games as I was too young at the time, though I have *seen* KOTOR.

1. Dragon Age 2
2. Mass Effect/Mass Effect 2
3. Jade Empire
4. Dragon Age: Origins
5. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic

I can't speak for either Baldur's Gate or Neverwinter Nights since I was so thoroughly bored by them.

1.) KOTOR (it was my first so slightly biased..)
2.) Mass Effect 2
3.) Dragon Age 2
4.) Mass Effect 1
5.) Dragon Age: Origins
6.) Baldur's Gate 1

I haven't played BG 2, NWN 1 (have played 2), or JE. I reckon all three would be towards the bottom of the list though, maybe JE a bit higher than BG or NWN. And obviously KOTOR 2 doesn't count but if it did it would be low on the list without the restoration mod. All choices are made from a gameplay perspective but in terms of story/character development I would probably swap out ME2 for ME1 and leave everything in that order.

Didn't even realize that I haven't posted my list yet.

1. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
2. Mass Effect 2
3. Jade Empire
4. Baldur's Gate 2: Shadows of Amn
5. Dragon Age: Origins
6. Mass Effect
7. Dragon Age2
8. Baldur's Gate
9. Neverwinter Nights

The first 5 are fairly close to each other.  I enjoyed Mass Effect, but the tedious nature of the side missions/forgettable characters prevented the game from being higher up. And while I appreciated Baldur's Gate as Bioware first RPG, I found Neverwinter Nights to be nigh unplayable.

Hmm, is it me, or the majority of posters here ranked DA2 near the bottom?

It's just you.

DA 2 is quite possibly the finest roleplaying experience Bioware have ever made. One of the finest roleplaying games ever to come out. It has a very engaging narrative, better than all those confusing ones with lots of talking and text like Planescape: Torment or Mask of the Betrayer.

I'm totally serial.

that's sarcasm right?
don't u judge me!!!!!
it's hard to tell wheater is sarcasm or not through text!!

Post my list, mind you these are games that they made or are associated with.

1.Baldurs Gate
2.Baldur's Gate II SoA
3.NWN and its expansions
4. Dragon Age Origins
5. KOTOR
6. Jade Empire
7. Mass Effect
8. Mass effect 2

You will notice DA2 is actually not up there. There is a reason for that. DA2 would be so far down the list it would actually cross over into negative value and thus would have to be put above number 1, to avoid confusing fellow forumites iv simply omitted it.

Talking out the the box, not user made contact included:

1. KoTOR - great use of a property, memorable characters, nice twist
2. ME2 - An RPG that allows me to focus on my character and decisions
3. ME1 - Awesome story, universe and characters undecut by weak combat and awful inventory
4. BG2 - A classic that is limited by the lousy D&D ruleset
5. JE - Underrated but a slick combat system, classic plotline and unique setting
6. BG1 - Great story, awful ruleset, bland clearing the black
7. DA2 - Potential to be a lot higher but buggy code, and then bad implementation of changes
8. BG SOA - Ruleset sucks dealing with characters this powerful and weak story
9. NWN - Out of the box the 2 character "party" stunk, plot forgettable

Ohhh, I'll bite.

1. DAO - This game accommodated my playstyle best. I don't like metagaming battles, or using cheesy talents. Here I never had to metagame (except one room in the Fade) or do anything I felt was too ott.
2. BG2: SOA
3. BG1
4. BG2: ToB
5. BG1: ToTSC
6. DAA - it was too cartoonish in parts
7. IWD - the absence of companions really hurt this one for me, and by this game I'd grown weary of Vancian magic
7. DA2 (tie)
9. NWN - I just couldn't play past the first 20ish minutes

As a word of warning, I played BG many years after it was released to see what the acclaim was about, and I found the D&D rule-system obnoxius and the inability to talk to your companions insufferable.

1. KoTOR
2. ME2/DA:O
3. ME1
4. BG II
5. DA2
6. BG
7. NWN

not a Bioware game

rofl, what is it with people putting all the non-Bioware games in their lists?

Knights of the Old Republic II, Planescape: Torment, Icewind Dale, Neverwinter Nights 2, etc. etc. are not Bioware games people

My list of how much I liked them:

1. KOTOR
2. Mass Effect 1
3. Mass Effect 2 (had trouble deciding which of the ME's I liked better, ME 1 was just a slightly better experience for me)
4. Neverwinter Nights
5. DA II
6. Jade Empire

I thought DA II was a pretty decent game to be honest. But that doesn't mean I think it wasn't rushed or disappointing.

I'm not going to say that I appreciated it more than the Bioware games I've played (ME1 & 2, DA:O, and KOTOR). I felt that it was clearly the least polished. However, I'm going to go into a different fandom to explain why it didn't bother me that much.

Back when The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker came out, many longtime fans of the franchise were disappointed because many things were changing. The game wound up having several odd flaws, including taking forever to get from point A to point B, and the puzzles were not as mentally challenging as they usually are in a Zelda game. The art style was completely different, and the pacing of the game was completely new. However, I still enjoyed the game a lot, even if it is far from my favorite in the franchise--and above all, I appreciated it that they had done something completely new when they knew for sure that repeating the exact same formula would have sold more copies.

That's what I appreciated the most about DA2. The way the party members behaved, the overall atmosphere of the game, and several other things were completely new conceptually for the Dragon Age series. Many rushed development issues caused these attempts to fall short of how glorious they could have been, and that's a shame. Also, the combat was kinda iffy. However, I was pleased that BioWare didn't try and make a DA:O clone, and I loved some of the changes that they made. Dragon Age II, in my mind, was a noble failure that was still quite a good game even though it did not reach the heights to which it aspired.

1. Kotor
2. Mass Effect 1&2
3. Dragon Age Origins
4. Jade Empire
5. Dragon Age 2

I put Mass Effect 1 & 2 together cause I think they're equally good. ME 1 has a better story, ME 2 is a smoother experience, it evens out. Also, and I know I might be alone on this, I really really liked Jade Empire. Dragon age 2 is meh, but I havent played anymore bioware games so it gets the fifth spot.

I don't need to make a list to say DA2 didn't made the list.

I am not planing to rank DA2, except for the Attribute of "Worst disappointmen by Bioware, so far"

If you could fit Bioware's games into Paradiso, Purgatorio, and the Seven Circles of Hell, every game before this was in Paradiso.

DA2? Purgatorio.
