Hmm...I really liked Jade Empire so I'm finding it hard to decide which I like more out of it and DA2.

I think if DA2 was a standalone game it might have ranked higher for me overall. But I loved Jade Empire's story and epic plot twist, the beautiful scenery and *fantastic* music. I recommended it to all my friends, which I have not done for DA2. I liked DA2, but it suffers being a sequel to DA:O.

So...

DAO
Jade Empire
Baldur's Gate 2
Dragon Age 2
Baldur's Gate
NWN (which I got bored with after the tedious starter area and quit)

(DAO wins because it's the only Bioware game I enjoyed to such an extent that I write fanfiction for it ;))

2nd

Dragon Age: Origins being my favorite, of course.

I own Mass Effect, Mass Effect 2 (thanks to the free giveaway), and KotOR. Good games, but not really my cup of tea. I've never played their other titles.

1. Knights of the Old Republic
2. Dragon Age: Origins
3. Mass Effect 2
4. Mass Effect
5. Dragon Age II
6. Jade Empire

The top 3 I played at least 6 times through each - Mass Effect I enjoyed the story far more than ME2, but the gameplay and mechanics didn't lead me to multiple play throughs as ME2 did - and it was just so much more polished. Jade Empire was the only game I returned after beating it the first time - I had no desire to play it ever again.

Out of the Bioware games I've played:

1. DA:O
2. ME2
3. DA2
4. ME (amazing game and story, but I just can't get past the dull combat anymore)
5. JE*

*I loved the first 3 chapters of Jade Empire so I don't like putting it on the bottom of that short list, but the last 4 sucked IMO and I didn't like that it was almost a solo game and the companions didn't really do much beyond support.

I thought NWN on its own was great and HotU was the icing on the cake. I think I may be among the few people who didn't find the starting areas in NWN tedious, I thought it played well once the meat of the game got underway.

1- Baldur's Gate
2- Mass Effect
3- Kotor
4- Dragon Age Origins
5- Baldur's Gate 2
6- Mass Effect 2
7- NWN
.
.
.
8- Dragon Age 2

Seriously, positions 1 and 2 can be switched depending on when you ask me. Positions 3 to 7 are all easily switchables between them too. It all depends when I played them and how I felt. There is only one thing that is set in stone: Dragon Age 2 is by far my worst experience in a Bioware game.

@Tommy, it wasn't the start of NwN i found tedious. I loved the opening school and finding the cure for the plague...

It was after that, it got tedious for me. Each their own though really. :D

From my experience with those who didn't like the game, was mostly because of the beginning. I agree though, 'to each their own'.

I don't recommend that.  The BG2 engine doesn't handle dual-classing as well as the BG engine does, and the more restrictive weapon proficiencies in BG2 can lead to character development traps in BG with the way BG's loot is distributed.  Also, BG2's faster walking speed changes the balance of several BG encounters.

All of the benefits of the BG2 engine that I think BG really needs were already added by BG's expansion, TotSC.

But the BG engine doesn't support dual wielding does it? (Unless you've installed the TuTu mod.) But you seem to the BG player who wouldn't install that mod so I'll take your word for it.

He didn't say dual wielding, did he?  He said dual classing

2: Dragon Age:Origins (counting mods if not slide it behind ME2)
3: Mass Effect 2
4. Mass Effect 1
5. Knights of the Old Republic
6. Baldur's Gate 1

7. Dragon Age 2(waaaaay down here)

Wish it was hyperbole, but it isn't -- the game is that bad. I hate bashing devs and designers, because they're people just like me and you, but boy was DA:2 a bad egg. I feel bad for the flak they're getting, but the game isn't of the quality expected from BioWare. Hopefully they respond with an awesome DA:3.
