The first time I played ME1, I went straightly for a Quic-start Male Shepard. As you can easily guess, I chose the one-can-all-whopass Paragon path, and the story went quite epic, but was pretty much like an old-styled hollywood movie.
When I started to create other new careers, I did some experiment with Male/Female+Paragon/Renegade combination. In the end, I found the Female+Renegade the best. The reasons are:
1. Renegade is just cooler
Most RPGs are fantasy ones, on top of that, those that you act and become that "flawless" world saver. A Renegade is a very realitic persaonality, and is what makes Mass Effect special. A hero that gets the job done in his/her way, that's something not every RPG cam offer. Since you're playing a rated-M game already, why not try something special?
2. Female Shapard has a better Voice Actor/Actress and fitting personality as a Renegade
This remains the same in ME2, going through the entire story as a Female Renegade is much more thrilling than going as a seemingly heroic man. The Male voice is suitable for Paragon (no doubtly), yet when it comes to Renegade, the Female Shepard sets the bar high. The male one sounds too weak as Renegade~~"I'm playing to be fearsome but actually I regret what I've done", or it can be that a bad boy is
just stupid from my point of view. As for female Shepard? Her voice sounds more sinister all the time, and she has a stronger, more commanding presence, and is more persuative(thus attractive) when intimidating. Combinaing all featyre above, it makes her a Renegade with depth in personality. Thus, she looks practical , powerful and awesome.
3. Bad Girl is Good~
I think many can agree with this. A Paragon man saving the entire galaxy? C'mon, give me a break, this is not any typical sci-fi created by any cowboy. Let the bad-ass boss lady lead the way and bring us some new sci-fi epicness!
What do you think?
