I am now collecting gold to buy book which is 15 gp a little too high btw
1 remark though, it is stupid from bioware that the only thing you can do as a ranger is to summon animals
I mean common how stupid is that, your in a dungeon and oh look at that, out of thin air a wolf(which I have read so far is the only and best option)
It would be good if Bioware would update ranger with some useful skills with bow and stuff like that

Sadly there are currently no ranged specializations. It's stupid, I know. It's very - very stupid. Both Assassin and Duelist require close-range (Duelist requires melee weapons to activate for starters). Bard doesn't really help out for ranged specfically either. And I just dislike the theme around it. It's just a buff specialization and Ranger - although I very much like the concept - is again not specific for ranged or melee and just a pet summoning specialization.

Here's hoping that in the future they'll add more specializations (Also why I am thinking of various specializations). Some more love for archers please!

This.

That being said, Ranger is awesome for anyone.

Its RANGER not Hunter, by the way.

Thought it actually would make sense to call it Hunter in DA:O, because these "Rangers" get zero Druidic magic.

Probably trying to move away from the DnD idea of "Ranger".

Rangers in real life aren't known for their Druidic magic abilities either :)

Then again real life (Park) Rangers tend to chase bears away from Picnic Baskets, not summon them to maul their enemies (unless the Cartoon Network has been lying to me all my life of course. Bears wear hats and bow-ties, right?)

Last time I checked, they did.

Has cunning any influence on the ranger talents?
