I'd say take Liara, as she is the Prothean expert and all, and more dialogue options will appear.
And then choose between: Garrus or Tali
The team you choose is the one you will end up killing Saren with, so keep that in mind.
It has absolutely no affect who you pick for this part on ME2.

I usually bring Garrus and whoever is my ME1 LI for that playthrough but intend to do it with Garrus and Wrex this time around (cause I miss Wrex so much, really hope he gets a temporary squad-mate role in ME3).

I take Kaidan and Garrus. Works fine. But having someone who can hack, is good choice too, so if you can't hack, take Tali.

My squad of choice is Wrex/Liara. I figure Liara would be a good have on a Prothean world, and she'd like it. Wrex because he's my brotha from anotha motha, I go everywhere with him. And he did want Saren's head.

 I prefer Garrus and Wrex. They seem to have the most natural conversations/roles for the endgame. Also their cutscenes work pretty well. Also leaves you with a really well balanced team, which you'll want since there's some pretty big fights.
