Hello!
I hope this is the correct forum for this question. If not, I apoligize!
My question is:
Is there a way for me to disable rain and snow effects client side? I play in an online community and the loading of areas that have snow or rain is dramatically slow - I would like to get rid of it.
Thanks in advance!
Disabling Snow/Rain client side?

In my opinion this isn't able to do at client side. Wheater effects only rely on serverside.Does it cause a lag if you play in these areas too, or is it only slow loading of areas ?

Thank you for the reply!
It causes lag when I play in the areas as well.
EDIT: Is it otherwise maybe possible, if there would be an override for it, to sort of circumvent the rain and snow effects with a client side override? And if possible, would that actually help?

I'm not aware of such an override you desire. One more question, did you notice the same lag/sloweliness if playing in an singleplayer game for yourself alone? And if your problem resides on your graphic card, perhaps the NWN general forum and/or the technical help forum are a better place to ask for a solution.

Not tried single player. And I suspect that it's simply "too much" for the graphic's card (it's become worse since I got a new (bigger) monitor a year ago) and that's why I figured if I could disable it I could put off buying a new graphic's card

Sounds odd, did you ever try another graphic driver (or perhaps you changed to a new one with the new monitor) ? It may help to take a look into your driver settings too, sometimes minor changes help a lot.

Never changed driver - as far as I am aware the only change has been the monitor. I would not know how to positively influence the driver settings with respect to this problem though
Are there files somewhere in my NWN folder that represent the snow and rain? If so, I guess simply removing them will cause me to error out each time it rains or snows?

Snow and rain effects are set by the builder in toolset during creating an area and in my opinion they are a hardcoded piece of the game itself. Only the builder can remove those effects from an area. But I'm curios how a new monitor can affect a graphic card likt this to display those kind of lag.You should give the peeps in the technical forum a try...via scripting etc. there's no solution for your problems.

I just whipped this together rather quickly, which means I'm afraid I wasn't able to test it. If they're noticably reducing your FPS, you can try putting these two files in the Override folder.

It works!!! At least for the rain! Haven't been able to try snow yet! Will post here when I did, might take a while though, snow is not as common as rain
