I recently renewed my computer.
I reinstalled ME2, imported my saves over and everything.
However, all the achievements I had before are gone. I accomplished all of them but nothing is returned.
I did copy my bioware > mass effect 2 folder from the old computer. What else may I need to transfer over?

Try this:
I backup ME's Save folder after major Achievements, playthroughs, etc.
Just make a backup copy of your "My Documents\\BioWare\\Mass Effect\\Save" folder. Key files in the folder:
•Profile.MassEffectProfile contains your Achievements plus some other stuff.
•Char_*.MassEffectSave files are Shepards' profiles.
•Games saves look like John00_998.MassEffectSave.
The first 2 files types are critical. The games saves are only important if you are in the middle of a game - the last game save being most important, of course.

sorry correct path is: My Documents\\BioWare\\Mass Effect 2\\BIOGame\\Profile
