To me its was the female hawk. I connected with her better than male hawk. The male Hawk I felt something was missing, his voice seemed not to much his character, as though it should had power, courage, and faith similar to that dud who played in 300 or Brad pitt in Trojan I think thats the name of the movie, but thats just my thughts whats yours.

Lady Hawke. Though, I think that's because I'm much better able to empathize with her than with dudeHawke. I thought dudeHawke was excellent. I just identified more with Lady Hawke.

I liked aggressive MHawk best, followed by all of the FemHawkes. The Dip(plomatic)Mhawk and SnarkyMhawke annoyed me....

It depends how you play, to be honest. Male!Hawke really only had two emotion sets: Good and Rough. His sarcasm was even a little rude, to be honest. FemaleHawke had compassion, sarcasm, and "authority." So it really depends on how you want to play the game. If you want to be a blunt, to the point kind of hero, go with MaleHawke. If you want to be ironic and witty, go with FemaleHawke. If you want a gruff and rough kind of irony, go with MaleHawke. If you want compassion, go with either.

Snarky!FemHawke for me, personally. It's the voice.

I found that Lady Hawke did a better job of changing personality types midstride. Dude Hawke sounded different when switching between charming, diplomatic or direct.

Pretty much this.

While I like both make and female version of Hawke, I felt that the female one sounded much better with all 3 personalities.

Snark!m!Hawke is such a huge queen and I adore him. Lady Hawke just doesn't festoon like he does.

Male Hawke delivers the snarky lines better, but Female Hawke does a better job with the rest.

Male Hawke put more emotion into the lines.

Female Hawke didn't sound right to me. The voice itself was great for Lady Hawke, but the voice acting could've been better because there just wasn't much emotion in the lines. I've done all 3 sets of voices with f!Hawke: Diplomatic, Witty, Agressive. None sounded right to me.

I've done some with male Hawke. Both of them have wonderful voice work, to me, but I just couldn't get into playing a male Hawke.

QFT

I was a huge fan of Lady Hawke just because I enjoy playing strong female characters in video games.. but Queen Garret Hawke won me over to the dark side

(edited for typos. foruming while drunk has its disadvantages)

I've said this elsewhere but despite being female, I don't care for LadyHawke's voice so I've only played male Hawkes thus far. I think it's entirely down to personal preference and gender identity. I am basically a butch straight woman and almost all my friends are gay men. I identify with male characters better.

FemHawke, simply because I can better relate to an individual of my own sex.

Male Hawke - Preferrably Aggressive / Direct. Female Hawke lacked emotion and sounded off imo

Each incarnation of Hawke possesses its own merits, and I like the voice acting for both characters, but I prefer LadyHawke.

It's a welcome change from Mass Effect; specifically DudeShep's lobotomised monotone. In DA2, both gender PCs sound great!

I like both Hawke's but with regard in particular to Isabela's interaction with them, I prefer her dialogue towards fem Hawke :)

I like female Hawke the best. I found that, depending on the dialogue options, male Hawke sounded either rude or emotionless. Female Hawke sounded much more sincere when she was being nice, and her sarcasm came off as funny rather than rude.

hm I liked them both, but I tend to play sarcastic hawks. Lady hawk comes off as charming and funny, dude hawk comes off as rude but still funny.

I preferred the female Hawke VA. I've gone through (almost) 6 completed playthroughs with femHawke, and couldn't get out of the beginning parts of Kirkwall with male Hawke. I don't know, I guess his voice just doesn't seem to go with the character...something is "off" to me, and I find it painful to try to finish it.

My first play through I went with the Lady Hawke. It was great but then I tried Man!Hawke, and I've never looked back. M!Hawke wins hands down. You can't beat his "Festooned with ruffles!" line. Lady Hawke never stood a chance.

Even though I'm a female I can never keep interest in a character of my same sex. I always have to play the male role and make him as hot and as bad ass as possible, Plus the few male companions a female could romance were...ahem... not for me. I wish we could create 2 characters, one main controllable and one to romance.
