It's really hard actually. I both love Male and FemHawke's voices, they do an excellent job at it. I prefer aggresive mHawke and charming fHawke

I utterly adore snarky male hawke. Especially if he's snarky gay Hawke. for Anders. He reminds me a great deal of my snarky gay friend, Nick, and it makes me laugh.
That said, my only complete male hawke playthrough was with a straight male snarky hawke with Isabela as a lover. Which doesn't speak much for straight, because head canon dictates that they tots had threesomes with half the male ****s at the rose. And Zevran. And possibly Fenris. He just prefers boobs to balls at the end of the day
Otherwise I'm a Fem!Hawke. My Mage is a Snarky Fem!Hawke. My Rogue is a Diplo!Hawke. My Warrior is also Snarky, but I have an Aggressive Warrior which is hilarious because everyone's like "WTF +rivalry" with her.. except for fenris who is all "F YEA *brofist* I LOVE YOU"
It's really hard. I
both VO's and I can't see picking a favorite. It's kind of like M!Shep vrs Fem!Shep. I'm firmly in the Fem!Shep camp, but that doesn't mean I don't love me some ass kicking trollfaced M!Shep and his wild fling with crazypants mc tattofase

It's completely biased to the player's choice.
Obvious Teddie is obvious.

The male voice just not aggressive enough, his voice do not sound like a voice of a champion. You want to hear something funny go to youtube and listen to Angry Joe discuss the male Hawk voice in his DA2 review.
I tried the male Hawke many times but couldnt continue the game because his voice was that bad. Female Hawk just fits way better.

I find it much easier to play as my own gender, but I do think that "assertive Hawke" works much better as a male. While I'm certain that "assertive FemHawke" works for others, it just doesn't feel right to me. Call me sexist, it just sounds more "right" coming from a guy.
However, I can entirely get into the role of "Sarcastic FemHawke."

I went with Humorous/Direct (Smile/Hammer) Male Hawke. A lot better than Aggressive/Direct, that's just overkill. And Humorous/Charming get's old fast.

I like them both. Being female I have more LadyHawke's because i can identify with them, but I enjoy both genders, all three personality types (though i think i like Sarcastic best either gender).
Aside from personality type I don't really have a gender preference.
*Edit* Okay I have to amend this. Having tried to play through an aggressive LadyHawke mage but I wasn't feeling it. It worked for male Hawke mage (probably a male hawke warrior, but not rogue for me). Aggressive was fun but it takes a certain kind of Hawke to pull it off. I felt LadyHawke didn't have the type of emotion it needed for the part.
Both genders fit Diplomatic and sarcastic well. For aggressive, I think I like MHawke better.

Brad pitt in Trojan
Man, if that isn't a settup for a joke ... but Varric tells me it would be too easy.
The name of the movie is Troy.
And I think it really depends on your personal tastes ... I don't think you can say "this gender Hawke is better or worse". Me, I prefered femHawke and of the six times I played the game, only 2 of those were male. (and I never finished one of them)
That said, I thought Male Hawke did a great job as the evil **** and really enjoyed my evil mage Hawke. (who, by the end of the game, had got rid of or killed all but three party members)

To be honest, I dislike both of voices. None of them really suits my Hawkes. I think it would work better to have some choice when it comes to voices (but it would require too much work, I guess).
However if I had to choose between female Hawke and male Hawke, I would choose fem definitely. In my opinion she does much better job delivering most of lines and her voice suits well various types of Hawke. Maybe male voice works nicely for Hawke with default appearance (or similar one), however if you want you want create someone totally different, it may sound out of character.
Therefore my playthroughs with male Hawke usually end when he starts to talk.

I like female Hawke the best. I found that, depending on the dialogue options, male Hawke sounded either rude or emotionless. Female Hawke sounded much more sincere when she was being nice, and her sarcasm came off as funny rather than rude.
^^ This basically. Fem Hawke's voice definately suits her character and with any option you can be sure it wouldn't be out of place. Male Hawke, as someone else once said somewhere, sounds like a schizo, and is way too rude and agressive in his sarcastic lines (which are meant to be the 'neutral' option). Her voice seems more consistent and relaxed in her lines, like she is more confident and doesn't need to prove her worth to anyone.

She also sounds intelligent and clever with her sarcastic lines, all the time (almost) whereas mHawke sounds like a meathead, nearly all the time, and personally, I hate those types.

I think fem Hawke has the better voice actor in that she's more versatile than male Hawke's, but I had the most fun playing as snarky male Hawke. I was surprised because I could never get into playing a male Shepard. So cardboardy.

I preferred female Hawke. The voice actor for male Hawke is alright, but the female one is great! When I play my male Hawke and he says something I go "Aaaaww..... you didn't say that right"

I have only tried sarcastic male Hawke though... Don't know if he is better as one of the other personalities.
