EDIT:  The original post dealt with the supposed fact that there would be no new love interests in ME3.  Casey Hudson has confirmed in his Twitter feed, however, that there had been changes in development since the interview and that there were actually same sex love interests for both male and female characters.

Happy to confirm #ME3 supports wider options for love interests incl. same-sex for m&f chars,
reactive to how you interact w/them in-game.

Casey also confirmed that not all love interests would necessarily be permanent squad members.

Interesting new things happening in that area.

Thanks go to thatguy212 for pointing out Casey's new confirmations.

Since the topic has changed, here's some new questions.  What do all of you think about the addition of same-sex love interests?  Do you like the fact that in-game romances are no longer limited to party members or are there those of you who could care less about any of the new additions?  Let your thoughts be known!

Original Post:  While talking to PC Gamer, Casey Hudson confirmed that there would be no new love interests in ME3 and that the focus will instead shift to resolving any feelings from previous relationships (unless, of course, you refused to pursue any relationships in the previous games).

In this one, we don’t really have new characters that are part of the romance stuff in the way that we did in Mass Effect 2, where we introduced a lot of characters...But we also have some interesting things happening, where you’ve got Ashley and Kaiden from the first game, you’ve got Liara, and there’s sort of a love triangle there. And then we gave people a bunch of new characters. People said “Well, I just want my Mass Effect 1 characters, and I’m not interested in any of these characters.” But then a lot of people had romances with those characters, and now the fun is bringing back some of those characters from Mass Effect 1 and putting them back in the mix, and looking at what you did in Mass Effect 2 and bringing some… interesting scenarios around those things.

So what do all of you think?  Are you upset that there won't be any new love interests?  Are you happy that more attention will be given to previous love interests?
