S/s male option was in the game initially. For some reasons it was removed. While s/s romance for females was always there. Now their finally making it right. And look what we observe on the forum. Some people suddenly decided that its happening at the expense of other non-romantic dialogue options. This is so ridiculous. And such obvious homophobia does not flatter you.

From a person saying 'look what we observe', you obviously aren't looking yourself too well.

What we are observing is a very vocal minority striving to bludgeon their own viewpoint unto others and at the same time play martyrs and victims whenever someone dare to disagree with their opinion or the way it's being done.

In short, it's practically impossible to discuss with them cause they are even more biggoted in their outright disallowance and disregard of opinions they don't agree with than any of the people in the thread they claim are biggots.

And all the while the actual game development will have resources diverted to cater to this very vocal minority instead of the resources being used to improve on the actual game. All because they have been succesfull in getting their opinions and disrespect of conflicting opinions appear as being 'political correct', so Bioware are afraid to stay firm with their lore and story.

What's the game about? Saving the galaxy from ancient machines bent on wiping sentient life on the galaxy? Or about how many different ways you can boink as many different NPCs? Given the amount of vocal air there is being used on this thing by the vocalists, one acn get seriously in doubt... <_<

Another very same one. Won't even bother reading this to the end, sorry.

Exactly. Heaven forbid they make changes which satisfy that section of the community, whilst making absolutely no difference whatsoever to the rest. But there's less of them, so who cares about them anyway, eh?

Get a grip, people.

Just as perfectly usual, str8 dudes want their str8 Sheps to romance female characters and are so cool with lesbian Sheps. Gay male Sheps are a no no. Therefore they start and keep to the crap like you just wrote. Take your hate energy and do something useful.

Welcome to the real world son. Hot female bisexuals are hot. And I have plenty of "hate energy" to spare complaining about poor decisions where I see them.

Might as well claim there is a certain amount of heterophobia in the thread as well...

I'm not gay...

It doesn't change the fact that there were some very homophobic posts on this thread.  I'm not naming any names, but they were there.

Yeah, but they say they're not. Which means they're not, somehow. Like magic!

Re "whiny vocal minorities" forcing BW to change their epic masterpiece:
Sorry, but video games are neither high culture art nor good engineering. Their purpose is to make money. If BW decides to add/not add/change/retcon m/m romances then it will be to increase sales.

I sure hope there is an option to turn the hetero romances off, girls are icky with their boobs and whatever and I never learned how to say sorry, no.
As to the characters can't be bi because they never said "LALA I'M BI FLOWERS AND PIXIES" doesn't mean they weren't in the first place. Real world example, hooked up with a friend the other day, talks about ****** frequently, never I love dicks. But seemed to like mine just fine.

EDIT: also should have been in ME1 from the start

Also,

It isn't "cruel" to call someone a ****got and bully them in so many ways until they are so beaten down that they want to kill themselves just because of who they are?

It can be done for certain characters i think
Thane
Liara
Jack
Tali
Possibly Ash/Kaidan

However, Garrus, Jacob, Miranda all seem pretty straight to me.
I can pretty much see Jacob after having sex with FemShep going around to all the male team mates and high fiving while saying he tapped that.
I also think it would be stupid to make every LI a bi because this does not reflect reality. One crew member for each side would make sense but the alternative is that everyone in the future is bi or gay which would not make sense

I used to think it was stupid, but now i kind of do hope they literally do retcon and make every single character bisexual just to ****** off the whiners.

Liara's already been done, they've heavily implied it with Tali, Jack could be done, not sure about Ash/Kaidan.  But not Thane.  Like others have said, he's terminally ill, if he was interested in Maleshep he would have said so in ME2.

One single developer decision that will allow some players to fully enjoy the game and that you won't even notice while playing (unless you trigger those options by making specific choices in dialogues), as it was already said by bleetman. And you came to this thread to whine and complain about it and accuse BW of possible wasting of development time. Gosh....is this what living in the real world has taught you, old man? Wisdom must have passed you by...

I have seen some replies suggesting that previous LI's or characters would become a part of the new same sex romances, in a sense, retconning. In his twitter, Casey Hudson has stated that these new romances will involve brand new characters so there is no need to worry about retconning with regards to already introduced characters. I would also like to point out that because Shepard is your character, you determine who he is, including his sexual orientation. Finally, as the OP I feel that there has been a little too much homophobia (whether intended or accidental) on this topic so I would appreciate if any further posters would take care to prevent such statements in all subsequent posts.

Yes, just like how it was so unnoticeable in DA2. Or just like how the addition of a token gay guy to replace Jacob would be unnoticeable if they go that route. Yep, Bioware has a great track record there. And yes it is a waste of development time and effort for most players. Old man? I'm not that old, but I do see a lack of wisdom in contemporary society. Something you seem to suffer from as well.

Know what? We've had to put up with str8 only male Shep for all this time. It was something that took away some from the game for some people but we still do like the franchise very much. Looks like your turn to try dealing with something in-game that you might not like or not agree with. Enjoy your gaming experience :wizard:

I think the same could be said of all of the aliens, AlexMBrennan. Is it really even a 'gay' relationship in that case?  Not trying to argue - it just occurred to me.

I do have to agree with this, though:

But not Thane. Like others have said, he's terminally ill, if he was interested in Maleshep he would have said so in ME2.

A wiser person would say no to the flirting of a person of the same-sex , if it is bothersome, and move on.

Where were people like you when Liara expressed interest in female Shepard and an undescriptive dialogue option pushed her into a SEX SCENE with the Consort?

I suspect that this may be a reply to my deleted post.
I agree that it's quite silly for the alien LI to be restricted to one sex since most of them look quite alien (and the asari are canonically pansexual and considered attractive by everyone). And I don't think we should use "gay" for human/alien relationship since it's current usage is restricted to human/human relationships (due to lack of aliens) but labelling a relationship as "gay" would automatically imply things based on the current usage.

pushed her into a SEX SCENE with the Consort?

You're running errands for a high class escort. What did you expect her to do after expressing your dissatisfaction with her financial reward and "gift of words"?

As for your 'good engineering' comment, I would take that as a personal affront if I had been working on the software projects you are commenting.
