It's always did seem a bit odd that there's always been some kind of F/F option in the games. (Although admittedly western society is more tolerant of this.) I mean sure the Asari are "mono-gender" but come on. I just hope they handle this delicately.
I really don't want Garrus or Kaidan all of sudden offering to jump in the sack with my male Shepard just because I say nice things to them. Also it would seem rather odd for both of those two given that we know they are essentially straight (Garrus and his Scout lady-friend, Kaidan's old girlfriend, and Kaidan also even mentions Liara's not bad on the eyes.) So yeah if either one of them all of sudden jumps out of the closet to tell me they're actually Bisexual I'm going to have to raise an eyebrow at that. Although in the case of Jack or Tali this would be more acceptable since we know Jack has before, and Tali seems to have a bit of thing for Female Shepard and she has no prior established preference.
If the new characters turn out to be Bisexual or Homosexual that's fine certainly though.
One thing I might add. It's way too easy to stumble into romances in both ME1 and ME2, especially with Jack since there doen't seem to be much option of simply just talking to her nicely if you're male. Also I think it'd be preferable if Shepard made the first move sometimes, especially in the same-sex romances.
I just want the romance dialogue to be a bit more seperated from the standard dialogue options. Adding some kind of clear "flirtatious" dialogue option on the wheel would be greatly appreciated. Cause hey not all of us want to sleep around with a crewmember every playthrough. And it be nice if we wouldn't have to simply not talk to them or be a douche to them.

But I was kind of hoping they'd develop more on the large amount of love interests they already have, before adding some last minute ones. And I don't think they should really rewrite every character as bi.

Well, I would think that Kelley has lesbian tendencies but I could be wrong. She just loves any kind of sexual pleasure from anyone/thing. I don't think that the engine core will ever be the same with her being there when we do FTL travel.

Well said.
Especially the last part
I want to play as Commander Shepard, not as Captain Kirk

The only thing I am worried about are the "shadow" romances that crop up accidently without me realizing it. Thats one of the things i liked, and didn't like about DA2. (I liked being given a separate option to pursue romance, I just didn't like how Hawke changed when you chose it. A serious moment turns silly when you choose the flirt dialogue.)
That said. Ho yay! Les Yay!

I agree with you. Apparently though, you'd be wrong to believe that if they never made any reference whatsoever to this, they aren't gay and/or attracted to Shepard.
Really, its fine. Just give me a toggle, or make it so seamless that you can firmly establish your brohood with Garrus so in every talk, there isn't a romance path.

Assuming he ends up bi in the game.

They will be:
Kaidan/Ashley
Tali
Garrus
Liara (Obviously available already to both sexes, even if they don't
like to admit she's "female", we all pretty much see her as "female"
anyway.)
...Not Jack, because she hinted she doesn't swing in the "girl field" (at least not anymore I guess) when speaking to her with Paragon options on a FemShep. And that's the ONLY preference statement anyone has ever said on your team. (Which leads the option always open for others.)
I don't think Jacob/Miranda will be either...Though that's just a guess. They just don't seem the type at all.

I'm not sure about Kaiden...
Watch starting from 2:30. His demeanor seemed a little more traditional. Almost shocked that femShep might actually like women.
I'd agree especially with Tali and Jack

I don't see Garrus as being bi, but who knows? I think Jacob would be a bit more likely but not much. They have set some of the personalities pretty well in stone in my head. It will be interesting to see how they implement this.
TBH Of the ME2 romances, Thane always seemed like the better candidate, probably because he was originally intended to be the Male LI.
I'm hoping they don't just make everyone BI like the devs did in DA2. Not to bash it, but that just came across as lazy. I can see something like Ashley/Jack and Kaidan/Thane being the S/S romance options.

A poor decision, sure. But lazy?

1. You should be able to toggle SS romance on/off at the start of the game.
2. It should be OBVIOUSLY CLEAR when you are activating a romance.
3. Garrus is not homosexual, and it should stay that way!
4. No new bisexual squaddies, It waters down the romance for both sides.
5. To back up #2, Shepard should be the one coming on to (squad member), and not the other way around.
6. I've been with Liara for 2 games. If any character is too stupid to realize that, homosexual or not, I will shoot him/her in the face.

When I say lazy, I mean the romance doesn't change up when you choose to play it as a different. It just felt like the devs said "Sure, why not?" especially when compared to the Zevran and Leliana romances.

Yes, it is. Its the same mechanism that stops you from talking to people you dont like, or not watching TV shows you think are lame.
Dont like it, dont do it. As they say, if sex is a pain in the arse, you're doing it wrong.

I agree...BW made the decision to make them the way they were in the first two games...they are flip flopping more than politicians. If they had started out that way I wouldn't have a problem with it and I don't have a problem with new LI's have s/s romances but to just change midstream...doesn't work for me.
I agree, new s/s are cool with me, don't agree with the current cast suddenly changing.

Dude, they aren't going to FORCE it upon you like that.
They
SPECIFICALLY said that it depends on how you handled your conversations
with them in previous games. Were you sort of flirtatious with them
somehow? Then maybe that's when the option will show up, otherwise I'm
sure you just won't see it at all.
What? I couldn't flirt with Kaidan or Garrus in any way in the previous games as maleshep. So are they going to choose some response I did to a specific conversation that I thought was just a normal response to a question as the "you flirted with him" flag? When I had no hidden meaning behind the response? I'd be pretty annoyed if that was the case.

It isn't as easy to find a male romance. Since none of them actually lead you on.

I support the principle of having same sex romance options. I don't support making old romances that weren't same sex romances before suddenly into the same sex now, other than maybe Jack.
No Kaidan and Ashley never stated flat out said they were not BI, but they were obviously not attracted to both Shepards.
You can make up anything really that wasn't explicitly denied. Ashley could have been born a man for all I know, that doesn't mean she should be written that way all of a sudden.
I also think that everyone being Shepardsexual would be kind of silly. Yeah I know it can happen but not to the degree it would need to in ME 3 with everyone around the same person begin attracted to them regardless of orientation. Besides, anyone who didn't romance Shepard in the first two games would already know Shepard, and they obviously weren't Shepardsexual before.
Frankly, if the situations were reversed and Shepard was a guy who could apparently turn lesbians straight, I can't imagine there would be a positive reception to such a notion.
Exactly why I don't understand why they would be adding this so late in the trilogy, Has anyone in Bioware actually confirmed?
