I personally think they should get out of their own arse, and just show us a passionate, mature love scene in their games already.
Then the game loses its under 18 rating and that is a significant cut into sales. As it is, many of the dialog and scenes are actually quite dirty if you know the dirty jokes that they are based on. There is one scene with Isabella where it starts with her giving the punch line to a classic dirty joke that still cannot be told on TV.

There was number of complaints how the DAO scenes were silly because it was "characters dry-humping in their undies".Snakenole wrote...
Not that I get my jollies watching video game characters do it, but it seems like they made this one rate G, instead of PG-13. I thought maybe it was a setting in options but that doesn't seem to be the case.
So they kept the undies but removed the dry-humping part. Sort of an opposite of what was typical suggestion to follow those complaints, but oh well.

Apparently the Witcher 2 will have fully nude and visible sex scenes. We'll see how that goes.

Decapitation is apparently more acceptable to depict than breasts, for some reason I've yet to decipher. People are weird.

I used to know this guy that worked in a movie theater. Said every now and again, some idiot would ask him if whatever horror film was playing had any nudity because they wanted to know if it was okay to take their kids to it. ... *checks watch* I wish the damn Reapers would get here already.

Its funny how some of these people who protested the sex scenes in Mass Effect are probably the same ones who want to see Osama Bin Laden's death pictures.
What made it funnier was when they admitted to never having seen the sex scenes in Mass Effect prior to their outrage.

The game is meant for mature audiences only, and frankly if you're not 17 you shouldn't have these games. 17 year olds can handle this stuff. 8 year olds shouldn't even come close to it.
Mother: You shouldn't be showing sex to our kids in these games! I bought him this game and I learn it has sex in it?!
Game Company: So, you bought your son a video game of your own volition that clearly says on the back "Rated M for Mature. Contains violence, nudity, alcohol", and whatever else and you're blaming us for exposing it to your kids? Riiiight....

No major distributor (gamestop, best buy, walmart) puts A/O games on their shelves. You'd never see the game anywhere if the series were A/O.
they'd have to literrally distribute the game themselves to get it out and that would be incredibly hard.
It would sell 50,000 copies at most and be a complete and utter failure.

When games can contain bloodsplatter, beheading and hints of rape when talking to mages in the Gallows they should be able to deliver a proper love scene when one of the few tender moments arrive in this game.
Fading it to black is just a huge let down, i do not wish for it to be porno as such, but let us see them show some skin, tumble around a little bit SHOW US THE LOVE!
The relationships in DA:2 is just: Kiss and a happy ever after, i think it's about time the mature games started getting conent that qualifies for that rating.

Personally, I vastly prefer the way DA2 handled it. Each encounter is unique to the companion you're having it with. The "sex" in Origins was clumsy and awkward to watch, especially with that music. By comparison, the scenes in DA2 feel a lot more natural and fading to black doesn't affect them negatively in any way.
Would it be so awful to actually show the characters doing the horizontal mambo? No, but if the sex is your main concern in a videogame, then you're buying it for the wrong reasons.

I don't think either should be exposed in the wrong contexts to children who might not understand the consequences of either one, but I can understand why they'd want to limit sex more than violence. But I also see our sexually repressed society would rather have us all thinking we are ken and barbie dolls until we hit the age of 18, instead of treating sex like the normal human function it is.

I'm not saying show us a scene where everyone is naked and doing it in every hole they can find, but definitely give us a classy scene with some skin before fading to black. Or at least show them in the process of taking off the clothes.
Sex is normal. It's a part of humanity just like anything else.

I'm not opposed to more graphic sex scenes in video games, but I think it's unfair to put the pressure on Bioware when nobody else is really making a great leap ahead in this issue. The Ethereal Writer Redux wrote...
One of the main problems is how parents cater to the temper tantrum whims of their children just to avoid a scene in Wal-Mart, Gamestop, Best Buy, etc.

Sex being 'normal' isn't really an argument for including it. Paying taxes and taking a leak are normal, but video games rarely show those either. What's the real benefit to showing more skin? Would it add to the game in a meaningful way? The mature sexual themes are already present.
It's odd to me that people in this thread are associating nudity to 'maturity'. That's rarely the case, I find. Bayonetta, for instance, is a highly sexualized videogame and nudity, or near-nudity is shown on a frequent basis, but despite its "mature" rating, it's actually quite a juvenile game in terms of its treatment of the subject matter. DA2 is already a much more 'adult' game, even though the characters stay dressed throughout.
