If Aveline could be romanced, what would it be like? Especially the rivalmance?

Don't taunt me like this. I want an Aveline romance so, so bad. I'm sad to say she's the only female character I really felt was attractive. Looks-wise, I thought she was the best looking of the companions. Merrill was too stick-like, and Isabela looked like....rather....artificial. I also loved the voice. And the fact she wasn't a hopelessly childish little girl, or a ****. (Sorry. I liked Tali. I liked Merrill, but the cute was layed on a little bit too strong. It got annoying. It was fun the first time..but it got old. Fast. And...I've never been drawn to in-your-face, promiscuous women.)

Judging by Aveline's attempts at courting Donnic, I'd that the initial stages of the romance would be quite awkward. As she eventually grows into the relationship, however, I can see the rapport between Aveline and Hawke developing into something akin to the relationship between herself and Isabela: that of vitriolic affection, albeit with a romantic twist. This would be especially pronounced with a sarcastic Hawke.

Aveline: So, um... it's a nice night for an evening, wouldn't you say?
Hawke: You've already tried that, Aveline. <_<
Isabela: The big girl's out of practice, Hawke. Give her a break! Not that she'd be able to do anything with that break, mind.
Aveline: Shut up, whore.

If Aveline was a LI, she would have most likely been my main LI.

Aveline is looking for love and stability, I don't think she would do a rivalmance. Romance would be nice though.

I love Merrill, but agree she's too cute sometimes. If Aveline were an LI she'd have been my main one.

I tried the flirting with her in Donnic quest and she almost realized what I meant but at the moment Donnic returned !
Bah even after she asks you '' what would thing be for us '' and all you can say '' I wouldn't work ''
She is maybe the only stable woman I saw in the companions. Not overly-sexual, not overly feminine and has a strong will and personality. She almost had everything I looked for but I am glad I was able to find her a happy life with Donnic.
I like to think her as my ''big sister'' too.

Aveline: "Hawke....You...and me....in the bedroom.....now!"
Hawke: (cowers)...."Yes dear."

I agree completely Aveline is one of the only two compelling and Attractive Females in the game and both are not an Romance option. Aveline & Bethany being the two I believe are the most attractive Females in the whole game.
As for the Hawke/Aveline Romance I think that it would vary depending on two Factors being Friend/Rivalry & Hawkes Personality.
I still hate that Bioware didn't make her a Romance Option instead we get
Isabella"Over Sexualized Stereo Type" and Merrill "Shy,Naive & closet pervert"
I actually have a Hawke that stayed single I am hoping Bioware adds an new Romance option or make Aveline an option either by DLC or an Expansion.
The most heart wrenching moment in my opinion throughout the entire game wasn't the loss of family members it was the Long road and having Aveline get with that loser Donnic.

I am glad that I am not the only one who wanted a Hawke/Aveline Romance I still do.
The thing that gets me is that a Hawke/Aveline Romance could have been doable now as for the whole Donnic thing they could have made the Romance vary if you don't pursue it she still could have been with Donnic but still gave us the option to romance Aveline.
And Hawke could have Married Aveline instead of Donnic and all that would have had to be added was some extra Dialogs and Party Banter and Hawke and Aveline could have lived in the Hawke Estate.
Just Imagine the Party Banter about the Hawke/Aveline Romance and Eventual Marriage they would be Epic.

Eh, I could foresee some people getting rather pissed that Aveline was the only marryable LI, not to mention the fact that a female Hawke couldn't marry her in any case.

@Xilizhra
True Enough about the marriage thing but I would assume that Bioware could still have made The Hawke/Aveline Romance a reality like If you did not Romance Her Aveline still could have Married Donnic but if you did pursue a relationship Hawke could have Invited Aveline to live with him in the Estate.

Why not? This is a fantasy world, after all. (Of course, it is possilbe they have some silly restriction on same sex marriages in Thedas, especially for nobility where procreation is necessary for inheritance of titles and the like. But there doesn't have to be, right?)

Canonically, I believe there is a silly restriction on same-sex marriages; that said, I don't believe that the concept of marrying for love has been invented either, and its only real purpose is ensuring legitimate heirs. Though I'm not certain why Aveline wouldn't marry a male Hawke... perhaps for the same reason that Merrill wouldn't, whatever that might be?

Well the whole Topic of Hawke marrying Aveline is sorta an intresting Topic as for the reason she would not marry a male hawke I can't see why not.
The thing is that I belieive that Bioware could have implemented the Hawke/Aveline Marriage and it could have still fitted and as for the reason I figure that much is that the whole getting married aspect is actually a large part of Aveline's character she wants to be married.
And as for the other LI's Marriage doesn't fit into their Characters any of them at all.
Isabella
She openly tells you either Gender that she will never be tied down again so I don't see marriage ever without having to do serious character changes and then her fans might not like her anymore if they changed her personality.
Merrill
I could see a Hawke/Merrill Marriage but once again Marriage is not really aprt of Merrill character but unlike Isabella it could have been implimented because Merrill loves Hawke and unlike Isabella she would not be against being together so I suppose Merrill was a possability.
Anders-Not even going there to complicated with the whole Justice in your head.
Fenris-I could see this as well but it would take alot of time and good writing to make it work especially if your Hawke is an Mage or maybe even if not Hawke is of Mage Blood either class and we all know how Fenris feels about Magic.
Also onto the Same Sex Marriage Issue that was brought up I am impressed with Biowares implimenting Love Intrests for all Sexual Orentations and I believe that it was a bold and gutsy step so bravo Bioware.
But I believe that they should not have made All the Love intrest BI Sexual while it is more fair that you get to Romance who you want it really takes some from the Game I whole heartedly believe that Bioware should have made some Straight Love Intrests that only go one way instead of all this BI Sexual Buisness.
Also I always imagined if Aveline would have been made a Romance option she would have probably would have been a Male Hawke Exclusive It makes sense like I said the whole marriage thing is part of her character and she was married to Wesley and then to Donnic.

It was a very good thing that Aveline was not romanceable, She is one of my fav chracters but she would have been less impressive if they made her romanceable by the player and thus took away one of the best quests in the game.

Aveline cannot be romanced because she's too good for you. Easily one of my favorite female characters in a game. She stays with that "no nonsense" mentality forever. Even when she's asking for help.
Plus I really love the line Hawke gives for that side quest: "Maker she is bad at this..."

That is a common argument against Hawke/Aveline but it's also one that can argued on both sides see the way I see It The quest could have still been in the game in its entirety but at the end after Donnic leaves Hawke could have had the option to confess his feelings for Aveline either right there on the Coast or back at the Barracks before Donnic arrives which would have been the point where Aveline would have to choose to be with Hawke or Donnic.

Not an option for this consideration; in our ponderings, we need to assume that everyone will remain bisexual. Also I always imagined if Aveline would have been made a Romance option she would have probably would have been a Male Hawke Exclusive It makes sense like I said the whole marriage thing is part of her character and she was married to Wesley and then to Donnic.

You know what I am actually a little worried that Mass Effect 3 will end up like Dragon Age 2 with all BI Sexual Romance options.
Some BI Sexual Options are ok but come on everbody that is just Fan Service like them making Garrus and Tali Love Intrests in ME2 was Fan Service I love both Garrus and Tali but a romance with them doesn't sound healthy in my opinion considering both parties can die from the relationship.
