I strongly resent this comment. It's classifications like that which makes jerks go "But it's only a cat ffs!" when I go nuts on idiots that leave kittens in a closed bag by the garbage cans or the like :bandit:

Or cut their tails off :(

There are some sick people in the world. :(

Who cuts the tail of a cat. srsly. Dont

Plenty of people do. They also tug the cats legs ar apart until it's howling, cut of its paws, throw them in garbage cans.

They do all that because they think it's "lesser" than them. And its "funny" .

Makes me sad panda

I got one of the cats those bastards cut a tail off when I was ten. I was naive and refused to believe anyone could be that cruel so I insisted it was one of those kittens that only had stubs for a tail.

Turns out the tail was infected and the kitten ending up dying slowly. We came home (we were going to go to the vet) and it had died thankfully in its sleep.

People who do that kind of thing disgusting. Why would you do that to anything that didn't hurt you? Bunch of damn sociopaths.

Third: Yesterday was May 17. Check the date. (hint look up what the WHO did 1990)

See, there's plenty of "unnatural" romance between humans and aliens, but the thought of two humans of the same gender having a loving relationship is abhorrent (to some people, not meaning you). *shakes head despondently*

I already responded to you the first time you asked if I had read it... Didn't you read that?

"My response was basicly that they say alot of things in public
statements to instill hype, but some of it is either inacurate or
directly oppsite of the statements they are giving compared to what they
are actually doing. That's why I brought forth the line to showcase the
possibly clearest example of a statement with 'buzzwords' being the
opposite of what they were actually doing."

Aww, sorry, I missed it. My bad. Have been re reading the last pages now and finally found it. Well, now you know the game won't pop anything homosexual into anyone's screen without their consent, something you said would happen. According to Casey Hudson, it won't happen. If you think Casey Hudson is lying and the game will pop stuff regardless of what the guys making the game say, it's okay. I wonder what you base that on, though. The available seems to point in the opposite direction.

Wait...are you saying that same-sex romance in a game is more controversial than working for a terrorist organization? Because regardless of the PR makeover that TIM, Miranda and Jacob tried to give Cerberus in the first part of ME2, the fact remains that numerous atrocities were committed by them in the first game (Admiral Kahoku? Corporal Toombs? Akuze?) and in the second game (Jack?!). And yet, some Shepard somewhere actually liking another dude romantically is more controversial? REALLY?

And the 'after the fact' argument works both ways, you know. You don't know how BioWare will implement the same sex content, so by your own reasoning, it's impossible to judge what the outcome will be. You say that it will affect sales. I suspect that relatively few people who have stuck with the Mass Effect franchise through two games will refuse to purchase the last game simply on the grounds that they have the OPTION to play as a gay male Shepard. If they do, well, I'm pretty sure BioWare isn't going to go into bankruptcy.

Now you are being knee-jerk and alarmist. I specifically explained that I did not think they would go into bankruptcy. As to how many it will affect? More than the 500 I feel (being generous) would have not purchased it if a gay male shep option would not have been implemented.

Whether you want to admit it or not, some Fox News chucklehead will take this and run with it, and some alarmist parent will refuse to let their kid play the game (yes I'm aware about the rating and the supposed purchase requirements, but we all know minors play rated M games). Those same alarmists will talk to their alarmist friends and will be '07 all over again, and Bioware DID take a hit on sales because of that crap.

Like it or not, this isn't a tolerant society. Not saying it's right or that I agree, but it's the way it is. A gay male shepard, even the fact of it being in the game (whether it's easily avoidable or not) will not help the game at all.

As to the Cerberus thing... really? You think a quasi-terrorist organization is more controversial than male homosexuality in this culture? Epic fail. I'd go so far as to say that NOTHING is as controversial in this society than homosexuality, save perhaps abortion (and no I'm not going there).

So, people have less of a problem with al-Qaeda than they do Adam and Steve. Okay. Yeah, let's all cater to THOSE people.

And you know what? I'm sure BioWare appreciates your concern for their bottom line, but let's not pretend that's actually the reason you're concerned. You don't want gay in your game. If that means other people don't get an option they want, that's fine with you. Of course, BioWare giving both groups the options they want somehow still isn't what you want, because you still don't want gay in ANYONE'S game. You would rather placate the people who want to exclude options, rather than include others who just want options added.

Please, do inform yourself. Pedophilia is not a sexual orientation. It is a psychiatric disorder, a disease. Acting on it constitutes a case of child abuse and it is a crime.

Leave the word child out of that sentence, and you have the exact same thing having been said about homosexuality in the past.

Food for thought, when youreally want to claim a theoretical high-point.

Hmm, there's this thing called the Flat Earth model...

Difference being, you can still find advocates for the 'homosexuality is a disease' opinion, but will be really hard pressed to find advocates for the 'flat earth model' at this day and age.

I believe there are still even scientists still searching for a 'gay gene', so they can 'cure it'...

I think this is a terrible idea.

I'm a heterosexual male and I wasn't even into all the flirting in "ME2". I felt like I had to walk on egg shells with my responses because if you were too friendly or interested a female character might think you were trying to bone them. That stuff is fine but I don't play the game for that, and I don't think video games in general are "there" yet, as far as pulling off this kind of stuff smoothly.

So if I'm randomly getting hit on by dudes in "ME3" because I was just trying to be polite or friendly....ugh. No.

I don't understand why they had to add this to "Mass Effect" anyway. For 2 games none of the characters were gay, and only 1 (Jack) was bi. Asari don't really count considering they aren't even the same species.

It comes off as a ham-fisted attempt at being PC, or trying to cater to everyone. I'm sorry but it's bullsh*t. This would be like "The Wire" making Omar bi or straight after people asked "why is he gay?". Shep obviously ain't gay or bi based on his actions in the last 2 games.

Something I would like to see in the wider options of a romance is more interaction with the LI.
Why can’t Shepard just hug his LI on occasion or have the LI do something completely out of the blue? Example: After discussing a mission, Ash goes to leave, stops then walks back to Shepard, plants a kiss on his cheek, smiles and then walks out. If that happened ... SCORE!
Nice little touches of affection … it’s all in the details. Hell, I’d really love it if she slapped Shep on the behind, made some really flirty remark before she left.  Posted Image

More connection to the LI is requested … Please?
Even relationship geared banter in battle would be a nice touch  ... But so would friendship banter. I know that is probably too much to ask for … but it would be cool.

OH HELLS YEAH!

Damn, I like the idea so much I actually resorted to caps.  It's the perfect thing to breathe more life into the game.

Right? It would remind my Shepard why he is fighting ... oh, and my femshep too. Posted Image

I always thought that Liara wanted to shove my Shepard around playfully ... Maybe because, femshep started it. She use to push on Liara during ME1 fights just to hear her say "Not now!" I've always loved those fight scenes where humor is thrown in ... Posted Image

Loved the dialogue on the Shadow Brokers ship when Liara placed that "thingy thing" to get the door open!

How would you know that Hex? One COULD play a bi or gay shep in ME1 and 2 (providing you were female).

Or you could play a gay shep or one who didn't have ANY romances, and the question would never be asked so how would one know if Shep wasn't gay? or was for that matter?

You wouldn't.  Your shep would be just the way you wanted him to be.

Which is why i suspect they're finally giving male sheps that option.  Since female sheps could do so since jump. Figured may as well let male sheps in on the action I figure

I understand completely where you're coming from with the walking on eggshells with dialog in ME2.  I got to the point where I just didn't talk to anyone unless I was specifically romancing or had to for the loyalty mission.  With that said, it's more of a show of how flawed the phrasing on the dialog wheel is.  Choices that read like you're just wanting to get to know that person better as a person somehow gets translated into wanting nookie.

A more clearly phrased dialog wheel would fix that right up.

With this in mind, I wonder what would be more "unnatural" ...a s/s alien or a s/s human LI?
