Black individuals who have moral objections to homosexuality are also bigots, yes. Being part of a minority group does not exonerate you of being a bigot.

Wrong. Neither a black or white individual is a bigot for having moral objections to homosexuality. That is simply more insane "politically correct" BS which seeks to demonize everybody who isn't "accepting" enough.

If you're going to hate or look down on someone for who they are, you are a bigot. It's not PC, it's fact. Nothing more, nothing less.

Beats me how two consenting adults doing what ever they want could be morally wrong. They hurt no one.

Still off-topic.

Of course the ideal solution is for Bioware to reverse their decision and invest that effort somewhere else. Yet I can't be satisfied by them taking the middle route and allowing a selection at the start of the game?

There are no substantiated moral objections to homosexuality. Hence why these people are bigots.

So, Centauri, how about that James Vega for m/m, sounds like he'll be hot stuff, amirite?

I like that idea. My only issue would be that he doesn't have much history with Shepard compared to past squad members and I'm afraid the romance won't be as immersive but oh well...gotta trust BioWare.
I honestly think Joker would be a fine m/m option as well.

Joker for sure. He has a beard.

;)

As for Gianna, I feel like there's so many LIs from the two previous games that any new LIs should be made s/s only. I know it's a big hope, and that it takes resources to develop a romance, but there's plenty of straight only romances so having, let's say Gianna be f/f only or Joker be m/m only would be fair enough. I'm not talking about squad members, like maybe James Vega is bi instead of gay LI, I'm talking about minor characters as LIs with not as big a role in the game. Then, it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to make then s/s only since they don't have as much content.

Either way, I know that Bioware will do a good job at it. Still, I want a beard for Judas' man.

no offense to those who actually believe sexuality isn't a choice, but sexuality is a choice. I choose to be straight so I am. If I chose to be gay I would be.

Honey, if you can choose to be attracted to men and have sex with men and like it, I have news for you.

Well on your first point I can find another guy handsome or good looking but onto bolded, that's exactly why I chose to be straight I wouldn't like sex with a dude. (Not to mention it makes sure our species still exists).

Then why don't you give us a moral objection to something that is entirely harmless and personal?

Because numerous times there has been the argument that "people change, they can become gay/bi"...how is one to think of that change?

That's not the argument. "Realizing they are gay/bi" is different from "becoming gay/bi". There are any number of reasons why someone might not realize, or want to accept, that they are gay/bi.

But then there has been the argument that it is the future and it shouldn't be an issue for anyone AND that for those in interspecies relationships the crossing the species thing should be more of an issue than love with someone of the same sex. Not to mention that it has been said that some species don't seem to care anyway, like the Turians. Which of course would make it weird if Garrus were to have hidden for some reason.

No, that convoluted argument makes little sense, but then again, most argument by either side in relation to the established characters have just been attempts to explain why what they want to happen could/should happen anyway. :P

I still have my two, three characters I view as straight and would want them to remain that way, but alas, I can't really argument in favor of it beyond "i want that".

Umm no. The fact that I find an action these individuals take to be wrong does not make me a bigot. Am I a bigot against drug addicts too for the thinking their actions are wrong?

I don't need to be all knowing to know that an accident of birth cannot be morally wrong. I don't need to know everything to know that.

So, racism does not equate to homophobia, but homosexuality does equate to drug addiction.

I find Joker so totally cute! Also, personality-wise, I admire him a lot. He has acomplished so much, overcoming his disease, and also how he helped save the Normandy!!!

P.S: Please guys, those engaging in off-topic, can you see we are trying to discuss the topic of this thread?

That's not what sexuality means, sweetie. Having sex with someone of the same sex is a choice, but wanting to or enjoying it is not a choice. If you wouldn't like to have sex with a man, you are objectively and immutably straight.

Their actions were by choice. Being gay isn't.

We're still all waiting to hear what is morally wrong with gays though.

I am offended. Taking drugs is harmful, having a relationship with the same-sex isn't. They're not the same thing.

Didn't you ever think that by comparing black people with gay people, you actually insult black people?
And I also think that sexuality is not comparable to race.

The comparison was about  acceptance. I can apply the same to women.

Even so, the struggle for acceptance gay people have gone through compared to blacks, irish, jews, etc. is nowhere near the same.  It's understandable for someone to take offence to the bilittling of the struggles their race has had to endure.

That being said, you may continue fighting with each other.

Why isn't it the same? Are both groups not people? Can both groups change who they are?
