Jacob: straight only( he already has a son and he goes bro4life with ManShep)

Jacob has a son?

This is news to me.

I fixed it into child.

If you asked him does he has any family he has something like: "one child and no other family".

Mesina2, where did you get the idea that Jacob has a child?

Edit: Oh.  He says that he's an "only child," meaning he has no other siblings.

Never showing any interest and past interest in females aren't sane enough for you?

I just want an option now to turn off all romances. Having to creep carefully through dialogue options to avoid everyone trying to jump me is going to get old fast. I want an action-RPG, not a speed-dating sim.

This x10. All this romance stuff gay or straight is just silly at this point. I swear most people on these boards should be playing the Sims or something.

You know, they could just make two new gay characters and avoid the whole retcon thing. Gay romancers are happy, straight romancers are happy, and my Shep doesn't have to awkwardly turn down Garrus who has all of a sudden developed a man crush.

Well hello, what have been saying for last 10 pages?

I think what he said was "Only child". Meaning he has no siblings.

I'm stumped - truly and honestly bewildered - by how many people immediately throw up Garrus' name and start screaming when they hear s/s.

The chances of a mShep/Garrus romance are so tiny as to be laughable, precisely because so many people on the forum - for mystifying reasons - see him as a 'bro'. A s/s romance is never going to happen. He's safe. Don't worry. He won't be developing a 'man crush' on anything. Unless Bioware goes crazy with the romances in ME3, which they simply won't do.

glad to see you havent read the thread. or completely ignored all of my posts.

the best argument for him being bi is "well he never said he wasn't" which is easily, by far, the worst reason for anything ive ever heard.

if you can look at my posts on this and tell me why i might be wrong or why my train of thought isn't as you say "sane". please i'd love you to enlighten me. as i said earlier i view this completely as a character writing puzzle.

Garrus: straight only (we know he's into woman and he finds relationship with FemShep very nervous, how would that work with ManShep?)

Yeah, Just like Anders "Pretty Girl Right here".

Oh did I ever mention that I HATE Anders bisexuality? It just came out of f*cking nowhere.

*eyetwitches*

He was never exclusively straight for the love of christ.

He never seriously hit on anyone. Velanna was a target because it annoyed her easily and he likes her looks (and one can say he kind of hit on Nate with that "not when I'm naked." remark). Having a female lover in no way shape or form makes you exclusively straight.

He laughs off the "pretty girl right here." line, he tells both the FemWarden and MaleWarden that he loves them...but not in that way.

The WC only knew him for 6 months and didn't have a time to quiz him on his sexuality.

It didn't come out of nowhere you just assmed and was wrong. It happens.

I would refer you to Anders who was possibly even more blatantly hetero in Awakening than Garrus is throughout ME.

No. See the above.

A prequiste of being bisexual is being attracted to women.

Liking women doesn't not always mean one only likes women.

I always kind of thought that Garrus would work as a Bi-LI since he specifically says that he doesn't have a human fetish, it's just Shepard. So that came across to me as "If it's YOU its okay."

But that's just a thought...

1. Who's VS?
2. If you don't romance anyone in ME1, whats the start of ME2 like? Who comes up to you in the beginning?

True. But Anders never, ever had a fanbase as large, as vocal or as devoted as Garrus'.

Changing the character would be suicide. Fans would scream with the fury of a thousand suns (I've always wanted to use that metaphor).

The consensus option for same-sex-romancable characters seems to be the Virmire Survivor and perhaps some new characters, given their ambiguity and some lines of dialogue in ME2 that may suggest a deeper relationship.

I don't deny that some want Garrus as an m/m option (for the record - I don't), but realistically Bioware will never do it.

I think you're right. And I'm a guy who been playing a celibate male shepard because there's been no same-sex options.

I always feel weird saying it, but Garrus feels like the best friend I've ever had in a video game. I think he's a great example of true, 3 dimensional character, in a medium that often doesn't emphasise interpersonal relationships. Sexual or otherwise.

Garrus is totally in the friend zone. For it to get romantic, would kinda weird me out.

1. It's short for Virmire Survivor. (Ashley or Kaidan.)
2. The Virmire Survivor. (Ashley or Kaidan.)

Edit: Lol! Inevitable ninja is inevitable. :bandit:

Is the dialog any different compared to if you romanced them?

They are irrational.
Only thing that they can say for defending Garrus suddenly becoming bi in ME3 is that he never actually said that he wasn't.
But we know he was with a woman, can be with Fem Shep, but not with male one nor did he ever show the slightest interest in him and acts all bro-like and some of his lines strongly suggest that he is straight. Same goes for many other characters. So there is absolutely no reason to assume he is bisexual, but there are many reasons to assume he is straight. But that is not enough for them, and the best they can do is "since when are you expert on bisexual relationships?". Well I'm no expert but I can apply basic logics, unlike some people here.

Maybe ME3 should start with a crew-wide orgy. Kelly can bring her pet varren. I'll be down in engineering trying to figure out how to set the Normandy to self-destruct.

If ME3 goes the way of DA2, where everyone is a bi-sexual and every second dialogue option has a heart next to it, I'll have considered Bioware to have jumped the shark. I wouldn't mind a couple love interests (s/s or hetero, I don't care) but having a dozen of them running around all hitting on you would make me want to kill off my crew at the earliest opportunity.
