We're still all waiting to hear what is morally wrong with gays though.

Oh yes, because they just have to go around having sex with other men.
You know some think certain individuals are more inclined to become addicted to drugs or alcohol too. So is that genetic now?

I am not going to expand upon my beliefs, especially when it is against the rules here.

Can I ask you S/S fanatics this? Will you be appeased if 1-4 characters were made romanceable by the same sex or will you guys still whine like your being oppresed or not given enough options?

But then there has been the argument that it is the future and it shouldn't be an issue for anyone AND that for those in interspecies relationships the crossing the species thing should be more of an issue than love with someone of the same sex. Not to mention that it has been said that some species don't seem to care anyway, like the Turians. Which of course would make it weird if Garrus were to have hidden for some reason.

And when I was younger I would hold my poo in for weeks at a time because I believed Girls Don't Poop and people would think I was gross. Not everything people do makes any sense.

Then why don't you give us a moral objection to something that is entirely harmless and personal?

What part of the forum rules don't you understand? And it is only "harmless and personal" up until a certain point.

All relationships are harmless and personal when the parties are consenting and legal. I've NEVER been hurt when I date other men, so I don't know where you're getting all this.

Umm no. The fact that I find an action these individuals take to be wrong does not make me a bigot. Am I a bigot against drug addicts too for the thinking their actions are wrong?

Drug addicts are hurting themselves and those around them.  It's a bit different, don't you think?

Stay on topic people. Discussions about anything other than s/s romances in ME are off topic.

We don't want this thread locked, do we. Because the mods will do just that no problem.

Jademoon121 and the rest of the sane people. Please.

I am offended. Taking drugs is harmful, having a relationship with the same-sex isn't. They're not the same thing.

I'm offended too today. Some would argue a drug user is only harming himself and there is nothing wrong with that.

How is having sex with other men bad? And having some prediliction to things that cause trouble and pain isn't the same thing.

Wow, I take a day off and come back to find nearly a hundred pages have been added to this forum and there are still a half dozen people saying the same things over and over again.

Personally, I probably won't be playing a gay male Shepard, but I'm happy that Bioware has FINALLY decided to give the option for those that want it. Hell, I don't even need a "straight switch" at the beginning of the game. since I'm pretty sure I an awesome enough ME player to be able to choose the "I'm not gay" dialogue option on the dialog wheel.

It's a skill I've honed from playing the previous two games. You may stand back and look at me with awe if you want. If people are still having trouble with it after a week, I may even post a tutorial video on YouTube.

Still, on the subject of *shudder tinkle* male characters being (OMG!) recon for possible gay snuggle-bunnies, I am a bit curious if male Shepard can use the "Let's have a tie breaker in my quarters. We can test YOUR reach and MY reach." Just curious, mind you. Doesn't mean anything, I'm sure. Really.

Oh no! I've been INDOCTRINATED! Another victim of the Pink Mafia!

Unless it's unprotected sex with a total stranger who you don't know if he's clean which can lead to STD and bunch of nasty things. But that's because some people are just plain stupid. But just as many are heterosexual so that point it moot.

No I'm not talking about you harming yourselves. Things have moved beyond the "personal" realm and into the realm of politics and social issues on so many occasions where I shouldn't have to specify.

They're attracted to other men, that's what makes them gay. Why is it wrong if both people consent?

I guess you really have run out of ideas by trying to equate an accident of birth to drug addiction. You said it was nothing like being born a different race even though both are genetic, yet it is like getting addicted to something even though they aren't both choices?

Ah yes. God forbid that they want the right to be treated equally and not get discriminated against for something they have no control over.

In case you were wondering why you're a bigot, here is your answer.

Didn't you ever think that by comparing black people with gay people, you actually insult black people?
And I also think that sexuality is not comparable to race.

The comparison was about  acceptance. I can apply the same to women.

Even so, the struggle for acceptance gay people have gone through compared to blacks, irish, jews, etc. is nowhere near the same.  It's understandable for someone to take offence to the bilittling of the struggles their race has had to endure.

Why isn't it the same? Are both groups not people? Can both groups change who they are?

Not sure if serious...

Because it is my opinion, that's why. Just as it is your opinion it isn't. I will not go into more detail of why I think that, especially when this has been dragged off-topic enough.

There are parallels to be drawn between the prejudice blacks suffered and the same treatment received by homosexuals. There are no parallels to be drawn between homosexuality and drug addiction.

I can't wait to see how the Liara f/f romance develops in ME3. I mean, the dynamics are different now, going from starting romance to established relationship.
