All relationships are harmless and personal when the parties are consenting and legal. I've NEVER been hurt when I date other men, so I don't know where you're getting all this.

No I'm not talking about you harming yourselves. Things have moved beyond the "personal" realm and into the realm of politics and social issues on so many occasions where I shouldn't have to specify.

So me holding hands with my man or demanding my right to visit my partner in the hospital when he's sick, or marry him so that when he dies his money, property, and why not, our child goes under my guidence than his family, is some how wrong?

I know and admit that gays go overboard in the public sector, but we have rights and we are people.

Their actions were by choice. Being gay isn't.

We're still all waiting to hear what is morally wrong with gays though.

Oh yes, because they just have to go around having sex with other men.
You know some think certain individuals are more inclined to become addicted to drugs or alcohol too. So is that genetic now?

I am not going to expand upon my beliefs, especially when it is against the rules here.

They're attracted to other men, that's what makes them gay. Why is it wrong if both people consent?

I guess you really have run out of ideas by trying to equate an accident of birth to drug addiction. You said it was nothing like being born a different race even though both are genetic, yet it is like getting addicted to something even though they aren't both choices?

And even though I said I wouldn't meddle into medicine, this does apply to my field of study since it involves criminal behavior. Kids of alcoholic parents are 50% more likely themselves to be alcoholics. Fun fact. :innocent:

I am offended. Taking drugs is harmful, having a relationship with the same-sex isn't. They're not the same thing.

I'm offended too today. Some would argue a drug user is only harming himself and there is nothing wrong with that.

Some would argue you are hurting everyone with your ignorance...in fact, you are only hurting yourself....but again you have to have feelings to be hurt.

Still dying to know why it's morally wrong here. Just sayin...

Because it is my opinion, that's why. Just as it is your opinion it isn't. I will not go into more detail of why I think that, especially when this has been dragged off-topic enough.

excuses excuses. Unsubstantiated arguments are why your opinions are less valid.

How is having sex with other men bad? And having some prediliction to things that cause trouble and pain isn't the same thing.

Ah yes. God forbid that they want the right to be treated equally and not get discriminated against for something they have no control over.

In case you were wondering why you're a bigot, here is your answer.

They are treated equally in my country at least. Wanting to be a protected class is a different matter.

I don't care if you think I'm a bigot. Your views are so far skewed it is meaningless.

Neither can people who are infertile. Or old. Or on birth control.

******************

Look, can people please calm down and approach this in a reserved and sensible fashion? This kind of mud-flinging isn't flattering to anyone, nor is it a constructive exchange.

This thread is intended to discuss which characters may be introduced as s/s romances, and what the added dimension of roleplaying will contribute.
What doesn't fly is described in the OP, and can also be found in the Terms of Service.

I think at this point having the thread locked wouldn't be a bad thing. The pointless bickering is getting out of hand. Even those of you who I know are reasonable and nice people are involving yourselves in this. Please, just leave the real world opinions out of it. Let's concentrate on how we can foresee enjoying ME3 more instead.

I can be denied housing or jobs in my own state and many others. We need to be a protected group until we're seen as people in the eyes of the law.

I can see why that would be the case. However, ultimately it is still a choice, even if some people have a harder hurdle.
Gay men are 100% attracted to other men. There is no choice involved.

Considering that we did actually get agreements on a better worded dialog wheel, possible coloured text highlights and that the writing be handled well whatever the final call is, that's been it for about coming up with concrete ideas for implimentation.

Can I ask you S/S fanatics this? Will you be appeased if 1-4 characters were made romanceable by the same sex or will you guys still whine like your being oppresed or not given enough options?

You mean the way the anti-gay people are whining because these options finally ARE being included? As a supporter of same-sex content, one could even say "fanatic", since, well, I'm posting HERE aren't I, I would say "any is better than none, more is always better than one". Others might not though. You'll probably get a different answer from each of us. But thanks for giving me something on-topic to respond to, even if your tone is...well, let's just say that I would use a phrase other than "you S/S fanatics" to describe the group that supports this inclusion.

no offense to those who actually believe sexuality isn't a choice, but sexuality is a choice. I choose to be straight so I am. If I chose to be gay I would be.

Wow. A lot of homosexuals are envying you right now. :(

Nah, I'd still choose to be gay.  Having dated both, guys are so much easier to deal with.  No PMS, no "omg my feelings" talks.

+1 for chest hair, as long as it's not Austin Powers length.

oh those poor infertile people, they should naver be allowed to have relationship, becasue they cannot reproduce :(

incidentaly predeliction to things that may cause trouble and pain is not specific to homosexual relationship.  in fact you can be gay and NOT have predeliction for certain activities, I know weird isn't it?
