It's weird though. I don't have anything against BW including same sex romance as long as it's a new character but I find the thought of them changing old characters for that a bit... meeh. And now for those of you saying "Just because they haven't mentioned it doesn't mean they're not"... well just because they haven't mentioned it doesn't mean they are.
And here's another thing. Why should I, who plays as a straight Shepard who will not ever swing that way, even have to see the option to start a same sex romance? I mean my Shepard's not like that so why should it even be a dialogue option for me?
I concur. I always play a straight female Shepard and I didn't like the fact that I have to go out of my way avoid a romance with Liara in ME1. And I didn't like the fact that some characters assumed that my female Shepard is into other women whenever she does something.
I don't care that Bioware decided to have s/s relationships available, but there should be option to have those dialogue options removed.
The way I see it Bioware has four options available ranked in order of personal preference
1. Add new bisexual/homosexual love interests to the game but leave older characters unchanged (most preferable)
2. Change some older characters in addition to adding new bisexual/homosexual love interests, but add flag or setting allowing older characters to remain unchanged but leaving newer characters romance enabled.
3. Same as option 2 except also disabling new character romances/changing them to straight
4. Add new bisexual/homosexual love interests to the game and alter some or all existing characters (least preferable)
