I also voted new characters.
I like the idea of SS romances, and if they are new characters I'll play them, but since i have a number of Shepards, around 9 right now, I want all of my games to be consistent. And I have some doubts about BW ability to keep dialog appropriate to the right Shepard. I've allready had Kate Shepard called Sir by someone and it's irritating.
So if they do current characters I'll skip the SS romance, even if it's a character I don't romance in any of my games. If they give us new ones, I'll do them. But personally I think it's a good idea. JE had them and it was nicely done.

That's exactly why I LURVE Jacob. I used to hate on him because it seemed like a "cool" thing to do especially around BSN, then when I learned the technique of romancing him... I LOVED every second!

Indeed.  It's so very wrong that that conversation is buried in the romance track.

ETA:Not that'd it would make a difference but I just tweeted Casey asking them not to bury such conversations in romance only paths.  Be interesting to see if he responds.

I used to be ambivalent about Jacob, but over time I did grow to appreciate him.  However I'm still not forgiving the writers for 'the priiiize' line.  I swear it's like bad bar pickup lines.

Heh just to continue that offtopicness a little longer, you two may have just convinced me to romance Jacob with my 'last' FemShep! (the 6 I know I will take through all three games). I had been veering away from him due to the aforementioned BSN Jacob hate, but that conversation seems perfect. It's a toughie though, it's him or Kaidan...

On topic... Yay for choice! Yay for S/S relationships! Etc. xP

It does sound a lot like something you'd hear in a cheesy romcom,  I like to think he used the line on Miranda and she laughed him out of her cabin.

I was under the impression it was for wider romance options in ME3 and it goes on including. That means s/s is a subset of all romances. People can talk about the hetero romances and be on topic.

This kinda makes me bummed that my psycho Jacobmancing Soldier got him killed during the Suicide Mission (along with almost everybody else...).

As much as I hate the admit it, maybe this forum IS over. I think every side has vented their position on same sex relationships about 100 times over now. I'm even sick of reading the people I agree with. Until they close this forum, I'm more than happy to chat about other aspects of ME love.

Personally fully support the inclusion.
Only thing i hope is that they don't just make everyone BI for the sake of it. there are a total of 9 existing LI. If they are going to include more LI's, i'd vote for those to be exclusive gay or lesbian (and hopefully they're well written ones as well). and write up a few of the existing to be BI. but the whole "they're all Shep-sexual" is just silly. 

DA2's method just broke the believabeability. word i'm looking for is versimiltude. Not to mention if they did all 9 and end up making them all accessable that means 18.

We cannot possibly hope for a decent closing LI story archs, nor hope for decent non-romance friendship dialogs as well. and for the LGBT community/fans at large cannot hope for a decent LGBT LI anyways.


I and everyone on this forum have their bias's as to who could be BI or not be, i leave that to the writers. and if any of the new characters is 'locked out'  as only-gay or only-lesbian for my canon hetero Shep (i put my self in the game, and i am straight) run, so be it.


My favorite NPC in Fallout : New Vegas is still Veronica (lesbian NPC), nothing against Arcade - he just never says anything (so damn secretive). but Veronica was so much damn fun to have around.

So say if this new Vega guy is an exclusively gay character, but he has a great personality and great characterization, he'll most likely be a regular partner with me and Tali.

I really don't have a problem with LGBT characters in games.but i do care about characterizations, consistencey and truthlikeness.

just personally didn't like the "all BI", more so because of characters themselves, even if it meant less choices in the LI department.

I think poor Jacob fans have gotten a bad rap; don't apologize for liking a specific character.
