As much as I hate the admit it, maybe this forum IS over. I think every side has vented their position on same sex relationships about 100 times over now. I'm even sick of reading the people I agree with. Until they close this forum, I'm more than happy to chat about other aspects of ME love.

@ Erani -- Reptiles, birds and amphibians have their special bits inside their cloacas, an opening to their world of wonder. Sometimes referred to on the farm as an "egg hole."

I know, right? I've been banging my head against the wall for the last few hours now. Upside is I think I'm hallucinating some really fun stuff.

The weird reproductive goodies of reptiles, birds, etc., has always made me squicked out by alien-LI options. I mean, does anyone really think Garrus is packin' human-compatible junk? I think not. And who knows what's going on under quarian and drell clothing/suits. At least asari look like mammals—boobies, five-fingered hands, etc, so you know they aren't too weird down there. :D It's funny how people gloss over weird alien compatibility issues, and yet two human dudes doin' stuff is "so gross".

Unless these same-sex relationships are strictly platonic, I won't be buying ME3.

The alien Liara relationship was tolerable, but actual human dudes rubbing beards is wrong.

This is from a Bioware fan who has purchased every single DLC for ME1 and ME2. And, I've purchased new versions of ME1 and ME2 at least twice due to lending them out and not getting them back.

Thanks Abispa. LOL

Sian, remember even if WE don't know about Garrus' private bits, Shepard for sure does--->Mordin's videos.
So I mean he must be packing something compatible if she decided to go ahead with it.

Hey, you helped :P

As did I.

Maybe this thread has run it's course. Most of us are just repeating ourselves anyhow.

Opinions?

Going from my rough draft of the thread uzumaki, we've managed to cover a lot.

Many of the anti- s/s crowd's concerns when you cut through the bs is worry over quality writing.  We've agreed that the writing has to be quality, and agreed to a better worded dialog wheel and a backup of colour text.  As far as who the s/s LIs will be, everyone's cool with the new ones being so with some understanding hesitance towards established LIs being expanded so.  We've also agreed on the need for much more friendship paths since we've also agreed that is sucks *** that in ME2 we all lost out on some great dialog because we chose not to romance in some cases.

Think I got it all or have I missed something?

I never finished DAO. It was too old-school for me. I didn't find out about gay relationships until later. If I knew, I would not have purchased it.

Well, you won't need to pursue them yourself. If it's just the existence of the options you have an issue with, well I'll just have to buy an extra copy for you.

I think you covered the main points. I think the only thing you missed was that a few people are just really really mad and they want to make sure we know it. So, now we know.:wizard:

I filed the 'angry about the penis' posts that didn't really elaborate beyond 'rawr' under the bs category.

Well...I guess it's your loss?

Even the exclusion of s/s romances wouldn't have stopped me from playing ME3.

That, and there is no canon Shepard. Having the option doesn't make anyone's Shepard bi unless they want him/her to be.

I pity those poor people who had to create those options.

Here's how it went:
Chris Priestly appraoched his team and asked, "Who wants to model the male-on-male gyrations?"

The next day...
Chris returns with a script change, "Okay! We need a drop-the-soap animation. Who wants dibs?"

I never finished DAO either.  Some elements cropped up about midgame that did bother me so I just ended up with not buying anything further from the franchise.  Maybe if a mod was done to correct the elements that did bother me, I'd reconsider but going from the mod priorities I see on the nexus, it's never going to happen.

+1 for platonic sexytimes for dudes. After all, if two women can do whatever FemShep and Kelly were doing and "not be gay", then two dudes doin' stuff like that there can still qualify as platonic I'm sure.:police:

I think that there will be at least 5-6 bi characters, 2-3 males, and 3 females in ME3
------- my speculations from here down------------
One new bi man (maybe gay but i doubt it lol), possibly the Vega guy.
Then one or two bi returning characters (Kaidan and/or Thane; they seem to be the most likely to me... maybe Thane as a Pansexual)

A new bi woman that has yet to be announced
Then Liara (i count her as a woman lol) and another returning squad member (IMO Jack or Miranda will be Bi, but i don't think both.)

I admit that it will be difficult. But, I won't buy it if there's an option where two guys caress each other.

So you just don't do the option for the snuggles.  I've not done those on any of my ME2 romance Sheps since it does nothing for me.

Says the guy with the Dragon Age icon. B)

I operate on the theory that Bioware is run by professionals who are able to divorce themselves from content they don't like, given the existence of racist Shepard and Garrusmance, and the fact that they'd made these options available in games before we asked for them, just not ME.

oh please stop the dramatics.

The dudes carassing each other will be easily avoidable.

Just buy the game, ignore the blatant "I WANT YOU MALE NPC!" option and move on with your life.

It'll probably be about 10 seconds in a 40+ hour game.

And that's why you'll never be better than commander Shepard.
