Wasn't that the exact wording of Thane's romance trigger? "I want you"

Yeah. If they're gonna be THAT blunt with Thane the guys that fear teh gay won't have anything to fear.

It was right after telling you about his wife, as I recall.

See guys? Bioware can be clear about romance paths if they want to.

I think if BioWare makes the m/m flirt option clue something along the lines of "gimme your penis", that ought to take care of any confusion, don't you guys think? I dunno, maybe that's too platonic...

You know some idiot is gonna be like "I thought he wanted to inspect it! I didn't know it was *that* way!!!"

Really. How can you get confused about Zevran's massage? Some people really need to grow some brains. He even asks "If the opportunity to move past a massage presents itself..." what did they think he was talking about? :pinched:

Wait, wut? Moving past a massage obviously means manicures and pedicures. Am I missing something?

Honestly - I think some of these players are too young to go up to a counter and buy an M game themselves.

Huh? It's 10 seconds of *rejection* not 10 seconds worth of romance.

The romance is about ten minutes. And it's totally worth it. B)

Samara or Kasumi...either one.

But I'll be waiting for Samara :crying:

@Cel, why so evil? Conrad would make a fine LI. He just needs to be kept in place...like by a leash or pills....=)

Hmmm. Well, we'll have to put our thinking caps on. Hmmmm...

I think the hanar are monogendered like the Asari...so hanar bi LI in ME3! I mean if they have only 1 gender, and MShep romances one, then it wouldn't be considered to be teh gay right?

You think? Isn't that the key element of a lot of slasher films. You think you can contol the stocker, then they turn on you:devil:.

Still not clear enough. Even if James Vega has "I'M GAY, STUPID" painted on his chestplate, somebody will still "accidentally" romance him.

Heeeyoooooo!

I'd like to see s/s romances in ME3, simply because I don't view same sex romances any differently than different sex romances. Two people love each other, right on! Happy life to ya. The whole homophobic thing never made sense to me and it's about time people start getting exposed to the idea, it's the only way they'll get the respect they deserve. I kinda liked the DA2 approach, personally. Then again, that could just be because of Merrill...

So long as Damara gets her blue teddy bear back, I'll be happy with ME3. As for a new F/F romance option, I can't really see any of the current gals going for it: Ashley would let the military thing be a block, Miranda just doesn't seem like the type that would go that way and Tali... I just don't see it, tbh. I just hope they don't bring in another Asari or let Liara be the sole F/F option.

People is painting relationships in a way that's factually inaccurate according to what we now so far. Casey Hudson has said pretty clearly they will be reactive to you, not the other way around. You start it, the same way Femshep starts the Garrus romance. At first, he doesn't even know what you mean (he thinks you're talking about sparring), and you have to pick the romance option one more time to clarify what you meant. That's how it's gonna be, people.

"They will ask you for a shag" or "that's it, now they want your ass" are, simply, factually false statements. Please keep in mind what we know about romances before trying to make them look bad.

How do you know this for fact? I bet they considered all DA romances to be reactive to you. You picked dialog lines didn't you?

BW does put words and actions into Shepard that players find inhibits their roleplay and they say I wouldn't have done or said that or I wish I didn't have to buddy buddy with Liara in LOTSB or the big flap over Arrival or fem shep overtly flirty with Jacob, Zevran outright hitting on and propositioning s/s players, perceived punishments for certain actions which is moralizing on BWs part, and I could go on.

There are legitimate concerns on how they are going to do it. Some people are opposed period and can't be helped. I think BW needs to do a better job than they had in the previous games to make more unobtrusive while some vocal people here want it to be confrontational/visible to promote their perceived rights. Most of the stuff I will brush off, however repeating mistakes is not acceptable. There has to be a way to make it neutral to all sides that they haven't tried yet. However doing so may water down and cheapen all romances.

As I suggested earlier a toggle doesn't have to be all negative. If say you install (optional m/m)  then you can have more interactive content. Like flirting and maybe a better end scene than fade to black after and embrace or a kiss if that. They wouldn't have to be conservative about it at all since you have to check install option at beginning. Conversely it could remove hetero flirting that some may find offensive. Just an idea that they could be better romances if BW didn't have to worry about offending heteros.

I agree they probably won't be that tasteless by having a gay character outright say let's do it with no previous interest shown by the player given past reactions to Zev and Anders.

Until we get the game no one but BW knows the content and direction of the romances. No one knows how the romances are going to shape out so minimization is not a proper response.

Personally, I dont see any issue with it. I think it should be added in. Of course, not forced upon the characters meant to be heterosexual, but on those who would more likely be bi or gay (not using that in an insulting way). Personally I am straight, but I dont see any problem with others having a same-sex relationship with a character. I mean, after all, it is only a game. That could add a bit more realism to it as well, not everyone in reality is straight. yeah, some people arent tolerant of same-sex relationships, but seriously, its not causing any harm to others, so whats the problem? I say go ahaid and add that in, give the player a choice for a same-sex relationship. Id imagine that as long as the character isnt forcing themself on your character, or you can choose to hint that to the character, ect. there really shouldnt be an issue.

Just because I like men, doesnt mean all women are meant to, so same goes for men, not all have to like women. However, if that option is added, I dont think it should be an "every character is bi" thing, again it should be more realistic and have it work with the characters personality.

Nope to count as gay the m/m option has to talk in a lisp, wear rainbow armor and talk about his male sexual conquests all day every day.
