To be fair, they are...not incorrect about that. At least to a certain degree. 

I know it's not as bad overall as it was at one point.  I do remember reading some posts from some fans threatening violence against others who were poking fun at thier favoured characters.  But we do still get some laughs at those who take things more serious than life.

I fear another Dragon Age 2 where previously straight characters are suddenly bi, and where the only way to avoid being hit on by that character is to choose the rude dialogue option.

Any gale male romance options should ONLY be new characters and for the love of god, make it so that you can have a conversation with them without it being an invitation for innuendo or flirting from that NPC.

Personally I think Male Shep being gay is totally out of character, but that isn't really an issue since that will be optional.

As we've covered at assorted points throughout this monster thread:

Shep, whether male or female is a tabula rasa.  He/she's orientation is whatever you make of it and nothing will change that save you.

While we know there will be s/s romance options, we don't know who yet so we're only kicking around theories.  The new LIs do seem the best option, and should they expand existing LIs we all insist on some damn good writing to explain it as well as ensuring there's ample friendship dialog so no one's slighted.

We're also insisting on a better worded dialog wheel so there's no surprises with a possible back up of colour text to ensure no ninjamances.

I didn't understand what these boards could really be like until this thread. I came here just a month or two ago, so  I had only seen the workaday trolls who provide us with utterly ridiculous arguments that happen to be jumping-off points for quite good ones. I hadn't seen a knock-down-break-out forum fite, and now I have, and my spirit is chastened.

For someone who has been on the internets as long as I have, I've pretty much existed primarily in walled gardens even more tightly tended than this one, or walked trippingly by the deepest cesspools, taking in my bit of touristy shock and moving on. These boards are an interesting middle ground... well tended, with above average spelling and punctuation most of the time. I'd consider SA considerably more dangeresque, but that's just me.

The ebb and flow of this particular thread over the past few days has taught me some brilliant internet lessons. Every time I think it's settled down some fresh hell springs up. Still, the good fight has been foughten, and progress is being made.

Also, the mpreg stuff is so full of facepalm. So full of facepalm, indeed.

My big problem with the Jacob romance was that if felt more like a booty call. I just never felt it had the same emotional weight as the FemShep/Kaidan and MaleShep/Jack romances. Or even the Shepard/Samara notmance.

you're missing this piece of awesome.

Thank god somebody besides me gave this romance a chance, I'm tired of people saying Jacob is a "bad" romance just because they see the beginning and very end (on youtube).

Where does he express an unwillingness to sleep with a male NPC? 

FYI he doesn't express an attraction to the female warden either. He laughs off her flirtation, tells her *and* the male warden "I love you...but not in that way." He gives Velanna flattering comments sure he finds her attractive and likes irking her. He also gives Nathaniel that "not when I'm naked remark." 

And don't bring up the templar sword as being him not wanting gay sex. Because we all know rape =/= normal sex.

There are real people who are bisexual but won't tell people they barely know. That doesn't make them straight and "turned into bisexual suddenly." they were bisexual all along. It just wasn't any of your business.
