Pretty much everyone has said they don't want the characters to be forced on people or ninjamance because nobody here liked being ninjamanced themselves. There's a strong support for toggleable color coded text for romances or icons and Shep initating everything, which prevents the characters from getting in your face about it.

As long as none of them jump down my throat about it like that it shouldn't really matter.  Whoever is made bisexual/homosexual shouldn't show it unless pursued by the same gender. The point I was trying to make was that they really shouldn't show anything about their orientation unless romanced. It shouldn't matter otherwise, and everyone will be happy.

If you were to apply this onto straight interactions we have with the LIs too, then you and I can agree. But I'm going to guess that isn't so.

Hudson said something about the ME3 LIs being "reactive" to how we treat them.  I chalk this up as the ME crew's version of the symbols in DA2's dialogue wheel. Considering BioWare's history, I find it unlikely that the queer gamer's concerns were cause for the color-wheel development. It is much more likely these changes were structured to appease homophobic gamers.

In other words, I'm certain ME3's LIs will not be allowed to demonstrate queerness on their own. But I'll bet they will continue the pattern of hetero ninjamances they have portrayed so far.

I agree. I don't think they did such a good job considering the romances in ME2 in general, the only way to get more content and dialogue with a character was to romance them. Hopefully they improve on that in ME3 and let us build friendships with characters we don't want to romance. Hell, maybe even rivalries with characters we hate.

I'm with you on this.

Ridiculous. This whole issue is ridiculous. If people are not going to buy the game then shut up. You are not going to buy the game then who cares what you think in all honesty. It won't impact you in ANY WAY whatsoever.

It is alright for f/f romances of course. That is "hot" but god forbid there be m/m. "EW! I don't want to see that!!" Then don't f***ing choose it. Some of you people are a waste of space if all you are doing is spreading hate.

Yep, I'm surprised, too. It's a bit of a bummer to go to bed, go to work, then jump back on to TRY to pick up where I left off and find out that 57 pages have gone by since my last post.

Eeh I'd like to believe most feel that way but it is somewhat odd that asking for a gay character not to hit on you first is bad. Should I have clarified and said no NPC should hit on shepard first? Also I did get ninjamanced by zevran, ended it immediately but thought it was kindda funny. Hasn't happened to me in the ME series but whatever.

That rant would be funny if it weren't so true. I'll admit, I play female characters for F/F romances.
After all, there are two types of straight guys in the world: those who like F/F and liars.

BUT, that aside, I don't care if there are M/M. I'll never play them, so they have no effect on my game or whether or not I buy said game.

I think C.Hudson said that not all LI are going to be squadmates, and who knows Gavorn could have gone back to his people. Then when we visit them doing recruiting, he and Shep could fall in luurve!

Having a gay or bisexual character flirt with you at the first opportunity is okay, but even I, who SUPPORT the option. don't want to see preestablished character who never flirted overtly suddenly act like they're in heat. I think any male same sex romances with preestablished males should be handled similarly to the way female Shepard and Garrus dealt with it. Garrus isn't into aliens, but he can get into Shepard. Um, no pun intended.

Yes. My feeling is that its going to be 2 bi squad members: Liara and James Vega and 2 bi minor characters (who will prob have a bigger role in ME3) such as Kelly, Shiala, Gianna or Joker.

Don't listen to ExtremeOne. He's just butthurt because Cerberus is the enemy in ME3, for reasons that haven't been explained yet, even though anyone with half a brain could see that one coming a mile away.

I will give ExtremeOne this, at least it's possible to reason with him even if it does end up taking a few walls of text compared to the others of the intensely pro-Cerberus crowd.  I know I managed it once, and yes it was like climbing Mt. Everest though minus the frostbite, oxygen deprivation and potential of death.

I will admit to being curious as to what specifically bothers him about m/m relationships since he's pretty clear that's the only thing that skieves him.
