If you want to be able to date every NPC you meet wouldn't a dating sim be more appropriate than an action RPG? Why can't people just let characters be written the way they were/are supposed to be? Why do people want so many romance options anyway? I like the romances but it would just get stupid if every companion I talked to was sexually interested in shepard.
No one wants to date everyone or have everyone interested in Shepard...just possibly all the LIs. In fact, all the LIs are possibly interested in Shepard, they just add that pesky gender check so you can't romance some of them unless you restart the game and play as the opposite gender...boo, that kind of sucks.
In a perfect world, I would support less LIs but all being open to both genders...kind of like what they did in DA2.
It could work I guess. If they made characters that were actually believably bi it would make since. But if they just slap the bi label on them just to say you can romance them I and people who support bi/gay romances should be mad. Also as much as I disliked the romances in DA2 it at least made since that the LI's were bi. Also please people don't start another argument saying "characters sexuality hasn't been confirmed for sure". I really don't care and I really don't want to fight.

Hell, I've encountered that a lot today especially with some Tali fans. All signs point to her being into FemShep but she supposedly has an established straight orientation. lol!
But...all signs pointing to something for you may not be all signs pointing to something for others.
Is it really necessary to ridicule others opinions like that?
Is it really necessary to get worked up over Tali being romanced by FemShep in someone elses game?
From what I understand, Tali being bi makes her deceitful because she didn't tell Mshep that she might think chicks are hawt. I also think there may be some fear based on the fact that all bisexuals are depraved lunatics who have sex with everything that moves. These are just theories though.

Actually...that should be the outcome for cheating on your ME1 LI. The Normandy should get a space Herpe (like in Ice Pirates) and you have to run around the ship trying to kill it at crucial missions or the Normandy is destroyed.
Space Herpe! I lol'd.

No. Which is why I don't, thank you very much.
Doesn't change the fact that I view Tali as straight by now and would personally prefer it if that were to remain so.
Is it necessary to get worked up over me liking a straight Tali?
This entire thing can go back and forth. I have been civil and I accept what others want and hope for. Is it really that much to ask for that people don't mock those of us that just would like certain characters to be straight?

Has it ever been Established weather the male or female quarians carry the child? My be quarians just lay big eggs. Come to think of it would't it make sense for quarians and turians to be egg layers. It could explain the width of Tali's hips.

SHEPARD: What happened?
TIM: You are now gay! Joker's waiting for you in the honeymoon suite.
[Opening credits to ME3 play as Joker and male Shepard play snuggle-bunnies, intermixed with scenes of Earth burning.]

234 pages and everyone spouting the believably bi nonsense has yet to answer. Apparently we aren't allowed to talk about it but they are.<_<

Yes, 100% established straight.
The odd thing is that this is never ever brought up again between the two...as if they are too shy/embarrassed to talk about it.
I want the option in ME3 to be like "Hey Tali, remember what you said about sharing suits...wanna?"

In my perfect world for a new game, there would be one bi option of each gender, one gay-only option of each gender, and one straight-only option of each gender, as well as several "fling" options. If there were more than three LIs of each gender, the "extras" could be more bisexuals.
That's okay, but I still like giving everyone full romantic options. It would suck if I'm RPing my lesbian PC and she only likes 'that straight gal' and not the lesbian or bisexual LI

Kaidan is obviously a metrosexual, so being gay comes naturally to him.
As for Jack, she would be the perfect butch lesbian to complement Liara's lipstick lesbian.

IDK the ins and outs of being bi, but I'd assume it would be making sure the character doesn't say things that assume he prefers one gender over another, shows interest in the PC I guess? It could work very well on a new character but a returning one like thane who we know had a wife and kid, not so much.

Oh I know. But bear in mind who we're dealing with. Anyone who would say "women are beautiful, men are not" is the kind of person who doesn't understand that Other People Have Different Opinions, and that their opinion isn't "fact". He's also one of our "won't buy ME3 because of the gay" members, so let's just say that influencing him is probably not likely.
I'm one of the "may not buy ME3 (and haven't bothered with DA2 in part...) because of the gay" members, and I have no idea how he concluded that "women are beautiful; men are not". I think we look pretty awesome when we're all trained up. No desire to rub up against other guys, though. I can only assume he can't abstract aesthetics away from sexual attraction.

Well you are obviously getting worked up over myself and a few others getting a lol out of this supposed straight orientation Tali has. Last time I checked, we are on a forum and can express our opinions as long as they stay civil. I'm not name calling, only presenting evidence that is found in the game that shows she gets flustered with FemShep just like DudeShep.

Very wrong theories in my case.
Kinda insulting theories too.
(should I mention again that I'm not opposed to same sex relationships? for crying out loud, my favorite DA character is Zevran and I tend to play lesbian characters at least once or twice per Bioware game because I like the looks and voices...again, not everyone that wants certain characters to be straight is an insane paranoid homophobe)

I don't think so, since nothing in the series dialogue determined her sexualtiy. Seriously, I think being "all" inclusive is the way to go. In the end, it will ****** off the fewest people, since none of the sexual situations are forced anyway. It really is a non-issue. I then would venture to say since Shepard's character is of the heroic staple, Tali could just as easily fall in love with either gender based on the care and loyalty Shep showed her during his/her travails when saving the galaxy.

It would be nice to have an actual hard assed lesbian love interest, I will admit that... particularly after the none romancable Aveline. Truthfullly though, one of Jack's last lines to Femmeshep seems to state she doesn't enjoy the company of women.
I don't quite get Metrosexual Kaidan at all...

I wouldn't worry about it, for whatever reason most in this thread jokingly insult what people say, and then get sensitive if you say something they don't like.

My point is..the opinion that Tali is straight is as good and okay to have as wanting her bi or already viewing her as bi and I don't like feeling like I have to apologize for seeing her as straight.

Eh, it could still work. Think of all the formally married people who end up being in gay relationships. Thane could just end up going gay for Shepard.PlumPaul82393 wrote...

You don't? What about that hair and tan?
I bet he spends hours in front of the mirror just to get his sideburns to look right.
And I think Kaidan's voice makes him sound a bit effeminate.
