My wife and I have fostered kids from time to time and have been attempting to take on 15yr old girl permanently, who was abused by her mother, literally beaten to where she cannot walk correctly, because the girl is gay. Mother is out of the picture obviously, but the father wants the girl and the state social system has to abide by the laws. The girl wants to stay with us and all of the psychiatric care she has had has helped her greatly, and I fear going back may just set all of that progress back. It's been stressful to say the least, especailly for her, as my wife and I would give up
everything to take her in, she's so happy here and is totally trusting of us and our love for her. I cannot picture it going to pieces. She'snever experienced the kind of acceptance we show her, outside of getting into foster care and being with my wife and I.

Sorry for gush of emotion here, but sometimes this ****g crap just gets to me and I get very defensive.

This is a heartbreaking story. I truly hope you and your wife can help this girl. It is difficult to ignore the frothing-at-the-mouth hatemongers that find their way in here at times, but there's not a whole lot we can do about them. We can report them when they break site rules and such, but other than that we just have to let them rant incoherently. Honestly, they're doing us a favor, people need to see exactly what 'the other side' consists of sometimes.

I hear you Tommy...isn't she of an age at which she has some legal sway over where she goes? Here in Australia, I can't remember if it's 12, 15 or 16 at which a child gets a strong say in the legal system....I hope and pray she stays with you. I have a gay friend who has very limited contact with her father, she is an adult now...but when your father tells you what you need is a good raping to sort you out and set you straight, there's something very, very seriously wrong.

I'm really looking forward to ME3, as well as being back with the "Alliance", onboard an "Alliance" refurbished Normandy and hopefully, finally getting it on with a fellow "Alliance" marine!

I am not hateful at all .  I simply find the content of male and male romance in ME 3 offensive .  If you view that as hate then so be it .  To answer the question why I find it offensive . Simple its revolting and disgusting and I have made the choice to not be exposed to such disgusting content.   I am done defending myself in front of  a bunch of ****ing stupid ass people who do not understand . but one last things I will say is you can take your ME 3 dvds and turn them sum ****es side ways and stick them right straight up your candy asses .  because you can all basically kiss My ****ing ass .  chew on that you ****ing sick sons of ****es .

Well we can't get everyone happy whatever we do but I'm sure there will be much nice things in ME3 for both you and me since we both knows that everything can't be exactly like we want it to be.

I'm figuring you missed my posted questions to you some many pages back.  Understandable since this thread does move fast.  I was just trying to understand your perspective since you've not really gone into detail beyond finding m/m situations even when set up as content you don't have to access with a set up that you can ensure you're avoiding it as disgusting.

In ME2 their was a scene where sheppard keeps drinking until he/she passes out and wakes up in the bathroom with his teammates, would it be fun if their was a similar scene in ME3 and you get a cutscene where you wake up next to who ever was following you at the moment

I agree that it is, and sadly it's not uncommon in fandoms in general.  I still shake my head at the one lady in the Xmen fandoms who's so obssessed with Cyclops that she's convinced he's real, she's married to him, has taught her children to call him daddy when they see his picture, and regularly goes into frothing mad flamefests with any fanfic author that writes any fic that has him romantic with anyone.

I do understand really liking a particular franchise.  I even understand going a bit wild and buying up every bit of memorabilia with it.  But taking things personal over it....we've yet to cover that sort of thing in any of my psych classes in depth.

Deep breathing helps, so does stretching from what I've found out.  From what I've seen, when someone's not really giving much for one to try and talk things out, as frustrating as it is, you're stuck with not being able to reason with them.  I like to believe that it's possible to talk anything out, and if need be crack out some coffee cake since people tend to open up more when food's involved.  

At this point I think cracking out a full seven course meal with really fancy dessert's not going to help.
