I suppose you're right.  I'm not entirely sure of the nation of origin of most of the people on this forum.  I just assumed that they were from a primary English country because it's usually easier to comunicate in your native tounge.

Oh, you're quite right about that. I'm sure the vast majority are from free countries. I was just reflecting on my recent experience speaking with a certain forumite about the conditions of her country so I felt like pointing out the few of us who aren't so lucky is all.

And sure, everyone is irrational to some degree, but there are degrees. That's the important part. I really don't think anyone on the opposite side of the fence has posted anything as purely vindictive as what he typed up earlier.

No? People of his opinion have been called idiots, less worthy,as*holes, just to name a few. Of course he is pissed off.

Alright, then let's have reasonable debate here. He couldn't explain why homosexuality was disgusting and offensive, but I'd love for anyone else to do it for him.

Some feelings cannot be explained. People don't like certain food or color. And when I look a horror movie with my friends,I find some things disgusting and my friends don't. And vice-versa.

Gay people say that it's something they are born with, that they have no choice. Maybe we don't too,did you think about that. I can't choose to approve homosexuality. I could pretend I do,but I would just be lying to other people and myself.

*shrugs* I only looked at the past couple of pages. I hadn't realized. There's a reason I don't keep up with the entire thread. When you see me in here, know that I've only read the relatively recent posts because this place is so super-heated with angst that I just can't bring myself to follow it in its entirety.

So yes, if you're thinking "oh, so you don't even read the entire thread, what do you know" then I'll concede. I'm not usually like that but given the circumstances, I'd hope you understand.

I understand.

It's optional. If you don't like it, don't pursue it. Simple.

But with dislikes such as food or colours, one can still articulate a reason why.  Case in point, I really dislike casu marzu.  The smell makes me queasy and the maggots have this tendency to jump for the eyes.  I dislike the colour pink because it looks horrible on me.

Views such as the antipathy towards the subject of same sex relationships is something learned, be it upbringing, a doctrine of one's Faith, bad experience.

To quote George Carlin, "But hey, reverend, there are two knobs on the radio! One of them turns the radio OFF, and the other one CHANGES THE STATION! Imagine that, reverend, you can actually change the station! It's called freedom of choice, and it's one of the principles this country was founded upon. Look it up in the library, reverend, if you have any of them left when you've finished burning all the books."  He is one of my personal heroes.

Why would anyone eat casu marzu?  Most times when you find maggots in your food, it means the food has gone bad.

It's a traditional Sardinian dish.

I fancy myself a bit of a history buff, but I neither have the answer nor possess the will to learn how this came about.

It's some delicacy from where some of my ancestors came from.  One of my cousins who fancies himself a food snob insisted I had to try it.  Yeah...my life would've been fine without that experience.

The taste wasn't anything special, and it was more shock over 'These things are jumping??'.  I've had worse like the food poisoning I once got from Schlotzsky's.

OT, Somehow I don't think going all Frued on ExtremeOne to uncover cause of his/her feelings is likely to be very productive or interesting.

Plus, who really cares if he/she misses out on the experience of playing as gayshep?
Much better to fill these pages with bi Ashley love [smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/love.png[/smilie]

My feelings being contrary, I think ExtremeOne input was invigorating. This topic is already dead due to the lack of diversity of people. The same individuals who literally live here derailed this discussion. Oh well...

The hate some have for Extreme blinds them to reason.

Perhaps it's dead because the initial wave of celebration and/or anguished screaming has passed?

Because people have resigned themselves to the fact that it'll be in the game? That they can ignore one or two lines of dialogue in a 40-hour narrative?

We wouldn't be talking about a dish involving dead maggots were there something better to discuss. In the absence of said topic, random conversation seems to be the go.

That being said, I don't really see much point to this thread either. The occasional inarticulate burst of ineffable disgustedness and subsequent flamewars aside, it's hard to have a discussion when we don't know anything yet.

It's probably better to wait until we get some specifics. It's only taken, y'know, 260 pages in six days for things to settle down.

People can and will get offended if there are implications that their or another sexual orientation deserves to be censored, especially when having a double-standard such as Liara.

If you want straight romance and at least a semi plausible sex scene check out The Witcher 2. It's nice to be able to play a game where you know the main character is a womanizing flirt who doesn't have to be changed into a homosexual to appease a crowd of panda bears. Meh bioware romance is second rate now anyway wish they would just get rid of it. Makes me cringe.

*looks at the Witcher*
"Yeah, you should have sex. With me. It's fun."

Dryad: "Yeah, but no. You are not strong manly strong man."

*hands bear pelts*

"Where was I? Oh, right. Sex. With me. It's awesome."

Dryad: "YEAH OKAY YOU CHARMER YOU"

Case in point:
Patience, grasshopper.

i simply hope that sex scene in ME3 will be more mature rispect ME2.
It was simply a beautiful and mature scene in ME1 with Liara or Ashley. In ME2 it was a no sense scene for child with all the clothes on...,no mature at all.(Like Dragon Age 2)
The Witcher 2 is an example ,like ME1,of how a sex scene (homosexual scene or not) should be.
Bioware shouldn't care of stupid journalist saying stupid things on they're fantastic games, they are ignorant, that's all.
