yeah i think making the VS bi could work fairly well they'd be the most convincing "surprise" bi's of the bunch.Mr.House wrote...
They should just make Kaidan and Ash bi, that will make me very very very happy.jlb524 wrote...
To be honest, I don't think it's a good idea to make every single past LI bisexual, given how many there are and how much dev time there is.
It worked in DA2 b/c there was only 4 of them....there's been 8 het-only LIs so far plus any new LIs.

Why not flirt with someone who is straight and puts that character in awkward position.
Or even better, character you hit on is gay only and rejects you for that. That would be hilarious.
I think the point is that you don't know what they are unless you pursue it....unless you are looking from a meta-perspective. If so, there's lots of meta things I don't like about the game but I don't let it bother me as I just don't pick those options.
In ME2, I really don't know/don't care what Garrus' actual sexuality is or if he could possibly be into humans....same with Fenris in DA2.

I don't even really support all being bi, I just hope Ash and Kai Kai are bi and it makes more sense and is easy to implant. However I won't get angry if all are bi.Zulmoka531 wrote...

Maybe, but what's definitely unrealistic is an entire crew of soldiers, thieves, mercs, and geniuses falling for the same person.Mr.House wrote...
No it's not
With all due respect, and I really mean that, that's a bit unrealistic and demanding for ME3. I'm pro s/s relationship for the most part, but you seriously can't expect everyone to be that way in game. I can see it for a few characters and we haven't even met any of the new ones yet.

Indeed it would.
It is weird to like people more for turning you down? Samara's "in another life" made me like her all the more.
EDIT: Not that Samara is only lesbian or anything. Just mentioned her as an example of a character turning you down gracefully.

Listen, I'm bi, and in a perfect world, everyone else would be bi, too. Gender roles and restrictions are cumbersome, and there is much more depth to love than just reproductive instincts. Call me a hippy, whatever.
My point is that there can be depth and connection between two characters without it resorting to shagging, and therefore I think that shagging be limited to only one gender for some characters (because contrast between sexual orientations provides character diversity), and not an option at all for others (because y'all know the best companions aren't LIs, anyway: Mordin, Varric, Wrex, etc).
The key here is variety: sometimes what certain characters ARE NOT is just as important as what they ARE. Having all LIs accesible to every Shepard would, I feel, cheapen the characters as it would be double the crewmates jumping into Shepard's bed. Shep's a raging Mary Sue as it is; let's not make it worse.

There can easily be variety without making an issue out of sexuality, and with far more interesting stuff.
How exciting would it be if they cloned Liara's character in a new ME3 squad mate but just made her straight? Or cloned Jacob and just made him gay? Really...seems like a cheap way to add variety.
The other things you speak of are independent of sexuality, really.

OK, let's hope that Jack stays out of the girls club. Morinth already sent my femshep running and hiding behind Samara.

Suddenly making all old characters bi is equally cheap. Every character should be unique, and if all LIs are bi, the lines between begin to blur. It stops being "likes a certain kind of woman/man/person" and starts being "likes Shepard." Choice in Shepard's gender matters less, and customization seems hollow.jlb524 wrote...

I would totally support an exclusive m/m or f/f option for that reason. However, I am not against a couple bi options-those would be great fun. But everyone? Really? Aren't Shepard's powers of charmidation potent enough already?
And why the hell would they clone old characters?

Only game mechanics are rebooted since previous one sucked.
