Expanding on existing characters doesn't equal to rewriting them. Personally, I'd love it if all of the aliens turned bisexual.
I mean, they're already pretty much crossing borders, aren't they?

Yes yes we should all turn into women liking Yaoi. We have dismissed that claim. 

It proves hes more likely to be straight. I dont see any proof of him being gay prior to DA2. So that makes the score:

Straight-1  Gay-0

It isnt as insane to believe hes straight as you make it out to be.

Plus Anders doesn't speak about beer (i have no clue why i put girls)  in that quote. It's "a decent meal, a pretty girl and the right to shoot lightning at fools." 

Him not including men in that doesn't mean he doesn't find them attractive. It just wasn't relevant. Not to mention he'd be more likely to find a pretty girl willing to be with him than a guy.

Oh you can believe it. But you're wrong. Just like if you assume the girl making out with a guy is straight but it turns out later she's in a relationship with a woman. You'd be wrong then and you were wrong with Anders.

I always thought that Anders bisexuality, if it is "new", was a result of his fusion with Justice. After all, if a randy male human is fused with a spirit devoted to fairness, justice, etc., I think the result would be bisexual randyness. Ander's innate lusty aspect would combine with Justice's overwhelming desire to treat people fairly, equally etc. So he'd still be randy Anders, but he'd have Justice's lack of preference toward females. Just my two cents.

Just because you imagine him as being gay prior DA2 doesnt make it so. If he was Bi back then the writers would have added "guy or girl" to that sentence. No point in not adding it if he was Bi right?..Right?

All the DA2 Fenris vs Anders fiasco shows to me is this: New characters being bi/homosexual is fine with most people...but messing with pre-established characters does not result in nearly as much acceptance.

Anders was pre-established and only had dialogue leaning him toward heterosexuality. It is logical and understandable that people would view him that way as there was nothing else remotely hinting at a different orientation. It would be illogical for people to say, "oh, so and so didn't mention anything hinting at being x, therefore he's x." That's really not how it works for most people. So then, all of a sudden, in DA2 his character pulls an apparent about face. That's going to jar a lot of people.

Fenris, however, is a brand new character and was designed as a bi-sexual LI. There are no preconceptions being turned over. His dialogue is clear on who he is. His orientation is easier to accept because he has always expressed his orientation as it is. There is no jarring people with him, largely for that reason.

If previously established ME1/ME2 LIs undergo similar treatment as Anders, you will have a huge upset in the forums and elsewhere. Look at what we have now, and all we have is sheer speculation. Hell, we can't even say any previous LIs will undergo that. It could be just new LIs who may be bi/homosexual.

I highly doubt anyone but the most bigoted and homophobic will object to there being new LIs who are bi/homosexual. (And those who do should be ignored.) It appears to me, from DA2 to ME3, that much of the strife deals with pre-established characters.

And being approached by anders as a member of the same sex is not the same as the thing ladies "live with their whole lives" because thats mostly straight approaches. 

Again. Nothing wrong with anders being gay. Its just that things point to that he surely wasnt prior to DA2. Should have made him that way from the start and no whining would have happened.

Please note the inverted commas. My sarky point was that there are no facts here which can legitimately dispute Anders' sexuality in Dragon Age 2.
He never made explicit reference to his orientation, and as such, was open for elaboration.
Honestly, if you've come to expect complete and utter lack of sexual ambiguity at all times, I don't know what kind of universe you are inhabiting.

Someone hitting on you and then leaving it alone when you reject them isn't harassement. 

Someone hitting on you and continuing on when you reject them is harassement. 

There's a large difference between the two. 

Anders did the former. 

A lot of people are saying he did the latter. 

Just because he's the same gender doesn't make it harassment.

people are trying too hard to justify why everyone should be gay or bi.

all that should be done is they shouldnt mess too much with existing characters for obvious reasons. continuality, believability, ect.

but they should absolutely have teh s/s relationships. honestly like example-wise if vega hit o my male shepard i wouldnt mind it at all, however if say Thane did then i'd be weirded out. why? its out of character. vega is new so its not messing with established friendships and such.

hopefully they do this in a tasteful way that makes everyone happy.

No, no one has to necessarily expressly state any such thing. It isn't so far-fetched to understand why people would find it jarring, however. If a man only ever expresses interest in women, and expresses no such attraction toward men (and only extends normal friendship or camaraderie), it is logical and understandable people would conclude he is heterosexual. If a man expresses such interest toward both, it would be logical to conclude he is bi. If he only expresses interest in men, then gay. Whether one agrees or disagrees, I would think it would at least be understandable.

At least lesbians are more subtle and understand "no".
