wait, if Ashley was Bi all along, why'd she get so mad when I picked "Can't I have you both?"
Probably because she doesn't like to share.

I oppose this to begin with but I really, really, really hope that isn't the route Bioware is taking.

I feel a little bad whenever I turn anyone down. It may be dumb, but I'd just rather only feel bad two or three times in a game, rather than six or eight.

err....heavy homoerotic overtones and no sex?
No, just friendships. I just wanted friendship to be given the same emotional weight as romances, is all.

The problem with saying no is.. you don't know if that means you're going to lose dialogue with that person in the future. You know, given Bioware's history of tieing more dialogue in to the romances and all. If you friend zone someone, how do you know you'll be able to talk about other things afterwards? Will it make things awkward later if that person still has feelings when you romance someone else?
From a meta-game perspective, sure you know what each of those dialogue lines leads to and you can plan your romance out accordingly. But not everyone wants to plan a spreadsheet out for each of their characters (an exaggeration but also a reminder that not everyone plays these games over and over).

That's really odd.
You'd be better suited to abdicating for player initated romances period. Gay, straight or otherwise.
I don't feel guilty for turning someone down in ME but I do get irritable.
Now in DA2...that makes me feel guilty for not romancing someone.![]()

Posting what I said in the other thread:
I'm okay with this as long as its not characters already in a state of romance.
What I mean by this is I'd rather they focus on developing the pre-existing romances rather than splitting that time to make said characters romanceable for Shepard's that have not even initiated a romance with them yet.
Samara for example or someone like Shiala or this new Vega character I think would be sensible.

Maybe they will? It's doubtful, but we don't know what the same-sex romances will be. There hasn' tbeen any statement about what form the same-sex romances will come in: gay characters, bisexual characters, old friends, new faces, one-night-stands, full-fledged relationships... We just don't know.

Would you say that existing characters expressing bisexual interest are all equally unrealisitic, or do you think it's less of a stretch for some characters than for others? Do you think, for instance, that someone like Kaidan might have been a little more reserved about interest in MaleShep, as opposed to FemShep? After all, he does tell my ManShep on Horizon that "losing you was like losing a limb". Seriously, my Liaramancing male Vanguard was like "reeaaaally Kaidan?" and my man-loving male Sentinel was like "really Kaidan?":O

Honestly, what I advocate for is a variety. One or two LIs who flirt openly Liara-style, one or two who have to be pushed Garrus and Jack style, and possibly a few who are slightly tricky to unlock, but who can be unlocked if you're serious about it.
That way there's a good balance and it doesn't feel like a harem anime. Becasue I don't care if she never says "I like you," if a girl gets all blushy when she talks to me, I get the message!
I also think that, by default, each gender should have one cannon straight, gay, and bi option, but that there should be an in-game option that unlocks all romances for all genders. That way people who aren't bothered by the harem feeling can get whoever they want, while people who want quieter, more personal relationships have all the possible options, gender-wise.

This! Keep everybody how they are now. No funny stuff like the Garrus and Tali romance.
