I hope James Vega is a super manly gay man. I suppose he'll probably be bi for gameplay purposes, but I'd prefer him to be just into men. I also want another lesbian option besides Liara. I just don't like her. I want to have a gay femshep playthrough, but my heart is not into it with Liara. At any rate, I've got a few more play throughs to plan out when we get the announcement on who the same sex LIs are.

I have no problem with this as its a choice and you don't have to be gay or what in Mass Effect..am straight and i will always be with miranda with my male shepard but what other people do with their shepards is fine by me.

this has seriously gotten ridiculous. what a shameful way to ruin the image of your agenda.

most of you should be ashamed, you're just making yourselves out to be bigger bigots than you claim everyone else is.

Well you know what? Why don't they make every character in the series bisexual? After all, nobody ever confirmed they weren't.

I have another idea, let's make Y.M.C.A. new ME theme song. YAAAYY

^sarcasm^

Gross generalisations aren't helping your "agenda" either. :?

Is this the DA forum? I'm so confused....

I know stop talking about DA! THIS IS MASS EFFECT!!!!!!!!!!

People keep talking about it because they are afraid that ME characters who are revealed to be BI LIs will be handled in the same manner as DA characters who are BI LIs.

If ME becomes Dragon Age, I want to ride a dragon, dammit. I'll call her the Normandy 3.

It's awesome how quickly people ruin that hope, isn't it? Posted Image

The contradiction in this thread is mind boggling....

S/S Relations are here to STAY....in gaming and in the real world...DEAL WITH IT!!!!!!.....And I would never screw a Krogan, gay or otherwise...it's called CHOICE!!!

fundementaly this is about messing with characters to fit roles, and adding politics to games, most likely to search for demographics.

Maybe im wrong but i see no way anders was already bisexual in awakenings, and his mixing with a spirit with no physical attachment wouldn't exactly increase his opinions on the subject of sex.

Politics and entertainment i think we can all agree should usually stay apart, it makes good works bad to some, and worse to others. It makes musicians hated and contreversy stem and can make peoples favorite artists, musicians, ect, ect, objectionable to their ideolgy, whatever that may be, so, Its bad, to clarify.

its popular and they may be searching for that, or it could be a return to old ways, with bad timing do to the times. Im probably wrong here, because i won't lie i started playing Bioware games at KOTOR and have yet to go farther back.

Sorry if i offended anyone, which i probably did.

If so, know that in the future, Im never gonna give you up, never gonna let you down, never gonna run around and hurt you never gonna make you cry never gonna tell a lie and desert you. :wizard:

I feel a little sorry for the new characters they bring in to be the bisexual love interests, because they're going to be labelled as merely "the bi LI" by quite a few people and not taken seriously as a character. They've not had the time to be built up like established characters and we haven't grown attached to them. I hope, for their sake, the writing is fantastic and compelling.

I can't really think of any squaddmate (outside Jacob and Kaidan) that wasn't fantastic and compelling.

yeah, this is ridiculous. people are insulting. hostile. and childish. its really not worth having an intelligent conversation with you people anymore.

from using "they nver said they werent" as their primary argument.
from constantly arguing over SEMANTICS. dont care if its a retcon or not. if its stupid its stupid. what they did with anders character was stupid.

i love character growth and development. just not when its stupid. anders is a good example of BAD character development. theres countless examples of people growing, changing, aging, that are absolutely fantastic i love it. im not going to pick at one persons single opinion on ONE character and berate them because they disagree with me.

you're childish with your stupid *scratch* thing. its insulting and you're just making yourself out to look like an immature child. ive lost all respect for you, your opinion and wont read your posts anymore. act like an adult next time.

You realize you're the only one getting worked up here, right? Everyone else is handling the fact you disagree with them perfectly fine. There's no need to pitch a fit when someone says something you don't like, and you should probably get used to people disagreeing with your opinions when you are posting them in public.

I find it funny that most people had no problems with turning down opposite sex LI's who happened to be friends but it becomes a problem and terrible writing when Garrus who is their bro has to be turned down too because he's open to s/s romance. Either route will be awkward for a little while just like in real life but some people think this is going to completely ruin!!!1 Mass Effect. And this is just speculation that your squadmates might initiate the romance. I highly doubt that, but of course some have to fear the worst.

See this is something I completely support! Make James Vega gay and only gay! that way its a special character for the gay community. Make him a super badass who saves Shepards life!  Don't change previous human characters.

Sometimes I think you all are more interested in the romance aspect than the actual game, I'd recommend playing the sims.

Saying things like "learn to read next time" is being unnecessarily confrontational too. If we all remain civil and try to see each others' points of view, this would all go a lot more smoothly.

You said most and, from what I can see, there are only a few people on each side of the fence that are being unreasonable. Yes, there are a lot of disagreements but I'm not seeing many that are bigotted, just strongly opinionated.

I also don't like this "us" and "them" attitude that's floating around. We're all people, we're all gamers, and we all want to enjoy ME3. Let's remember that. :)

See, personally, I don't hate this stuff because of what it is, as much as what it does. There's so much focus on stupid backseat romances that aren't even necessary or at the very least should be sidelined already. Here we have a story about saving the Universe from mechanical Apocalypse Squids turning into a Soap.

Sexuality and all that is still a touchy subject, it's an awkward subject, and there's nothing you can do about that, deal with it. Some people have embraced the ideas of it all with open arms because it suited them personally, others because it made them feel "tolerant" and some because they are genuinely just really open people, I don't think one of you on here has come across that way.
Many however havn't got thisall worked out yet, and that doesn't make them evil or "homophobic", grow up already. We're all entitled to our own opinions. It's basically a rant thread of "here accept my opinions" coming from each side. Why oh why couldn't you just focus on the job at hand Bioware?!?!

I mean what next, you going to start adding in religions debates? Politics? Creation theories?

Agreed. But you see,it's not enough of them. First they wanted any male character to be available for male Shep to romance. Now when that they got it confirmed, they want old characters turning bi.Soon, they will want everyone on Normandy to be bi.

Why can't you settle with BioWare focusing on making one great gay romance with Vega instead of changing old established characters?
