I imported my mage and dalish saves but after finishing the quest King Alistair he didn't tell Hawke about the mage's boon as the reason for the confrontation with Meradith nor did Merrill say anything about the land given to the Dalish.

I'm afraid that's not so much a bug as a lack of content. We haven't seen any evidence that the boons from DAO, much less whatever you ended up doing with Anders and Justice, have any impact on what happens in DA2 and beyond.

But the devs have said that they intend to use the boons for DA2. I also hear that Merrill was suppose to make a comment on land given to the elves from the Dalish Elf Origin and get an alternate reason from Alistair for clashing with Meredith if the Ferelden Circle were given independance as a boon.

Do you have a source for that? I certainly haven't heard that before. Merrill comments on the Hero of Ferelden being Dalish and what happened with the Eluvian in that origin story, but nothing else. Same if the Hero was a mage, a few different people comment on that a swell. Never seen or heard of boons being recognized or that they were even supposed to be recognized.

The mage boon only gets recognized if Anora granted it. No idea about the Dalish one.
After further investigation, it looks like most if not all boons are bugged unless a hardened Alistair and Anora rule jointly, and the warden spared Loghain.

I have never heard Merrill or any other elf mention the Dalish boon whatsoever. I recall a rumor somewhere regarding the Mage boon that it was denied no matter who ruled Fereldan at the end of your game. You would think asking the Fereldan Circle to be free would certainly be mentioned given the plot of DA2.

Does the mage boon flag properly if a hardened Alistair marries Anora but Loghain is killed at the Landsmeet? I'd spare Loghain but I cannot stand Anora's screechy speech at the gates of Denerim.

Ah, well this makes sense. My mage playthrough I booted Alistair and Anora became queen. I wonder if we'll ever be lucky enough to see Anora in DLC if you had her take over?

I tried a playthrough where Anora was queen and booted Alistair as well. She didn't show up in DA2.

Have the boon related issues been fixed in the upcoming patch? Or is this a problem with Origins and not DAII?
