About to dust off ME1 and do another 1 or 2 playthroughs to import to ME2 and eventually 3.
Anyway, was brainstorming as I drove home and couldn't find an answer.
Wrex said he met Saren on a Volus cargo freighter.... Did we ever find out what was on it?
Possible Binary Helix and the Racni Queen egg connection?... only thing I could come up with.
thanks for any input guys and gals

but binary helix took the egg, and if there were mercs and saren on board, it would of been highly likely the crew had died, and if this happened binary helix wouldnt have hatched the egg, unless they found it after the raid

The game never actually specifies, but it does say that all the other Krogans died shortly afterwards. It also doesn't specify how or why they died, so I almost expect to see some Krogan husks at some point. *shudder*

I just made the Binary Helix connection becaues Saren was a share-holder. Figured he may have hired the mercs to take the ship.. then took the only important cargo... the egg. And had the mercs killed so he could have it taken to Noveria for his "company" to research. It as a stretch but a thought.
thanks for the input guys, I just couldn't remember if it said what happened and I havn't gotten that far in my most recent playthrough (amazing what you forget when you havn't played in awhile)

i belive in your theory too ..Wrex didn't know what Saren was after ...the ship had no important cargo to loot (as Wrex said) so Saren was looking for that egg that Volus ship found on the frontier

I don't think we know. Wrex isn't really the kind of guy who asks unnecessary questions of people who will murder him casually.

Saren was one freaky motherfvcker. If I remember correctly, Wrex, the biggest and ugliest Krogan in the terminus, got creeped out, and decided to flee.

I doubt that the volus ship had anything to do with the rachni egg. The guy in the Hot Labs (who gets impaled by a rachni tentacle) says that the egg was found on a derelict ship, which the volus freighter wasn't. Well, not until after Saren's raid anyway.
IIRC Wrex mentioned that the volus freighter had medical supplies. I always assumed that Saren needed those supplies for his cloning facility on Virmire. Either that, or it's linked to something that won't show up until Mass Effect 3.

I don't think Wrex said they died, he said he never saw them again or they never returned. Just finished ME1 again and when you fight Saren's geth there are some Krogan in the mix too. I assumed that they all ended up on Sovereign totally indoctrinated.

There's a new theory Eshaye... So possibly Saren recruits them for another job after the Volus vessel. They all go on Sovereign and become the Krogan indoctrinated (and potential clone doners).

I got the idea that this event happened a good while ago, and was during the time when Saren came to decide that he would use Krogans for his personal army. Since the freighter was insignificant, it wasn't what really interested Saren; he was more curious to see how his newly recruited mercs were doing. And seeing how well they performed against what Wrex said was a heavily guarded ship, Saren was pleased. And then started to work on the Virmire project. This of course would require that not only Wrex but all the other mercs too were Krogan. But that's how I interpreted it.

Am I the only one who immediately thought of When Harry Met Sally at this thread's title? :-P

You arent the only sick one out there, no. The only question is, in your mind, who was the one banging the table screaming "YES, YES, YES!" ?TS2Aggie wrote...

Wrex said that every single one of them turned up dead within a week. Which proves one thing, you see Wrex hauling ass without getting paid you'd better keep up.Eshaye wrote...
