Geth or Quarian

* The Quarians attacked the Geth first because they were afraid a newly sentient species was going to rebel against them for being used as slave labour. In a way, that does make sense.
However...
* The Geth defended themselves and fought back for continued existence. They never wanted to fight but the relentless attacks of the Quarians forced them to fight to their very best, forcing the Quarians into exile.
Now then, let's see where ME1 and ME2 have left us...
* The Geth became split when Sovereign contacted them, giving birth to the "Heretic Geth".
* Not all Quarians wish to wipe out the Geth as resident douchebag with a heart of gold Koris vas Qwib Qwib wishes to form peace with the Geth. No doubt he has some (if not many) followers.
* Legion is a prime example where even the Geth are capable of emotion. How many times have we done something we're not sure why we did? And how many times do we actually feel surprised when we learn someone we thought we knew have actually spied on us behind our backs?
* Tali's and Legion's interactions onboard the Normandy (if handled right) show both species can actually interact on a friendly level. Whether this was out of tolerance on Tali's part or through some genuine act of admiration as a member of the team is yet to be decided.
The Geth and Quarians are like two sides of the same coin for me. As much as Koris vas Qwib Qwib tends to bug me, I admire how he sees the Geth as the children of the Quarian race. I have had many fangasms picturing battle scenarios in my head with Geth and Quarians fighting alongside one-another, Quarians suffering heavy losses due to their weak immune systems and suits while the Geth pull the wounded to safety with disregard of their mobile units due to being able to wirelessly transfer their programs to other hubs.
But if I had to pick one species...? I can't. There is no right answer for me here. I will fight to my very last breath to see to it both species survive.

How so? Perhaps unlikely, but certainly possible.
Incredibly improbable bordering on impossible then.
If the quarians can't control the geth then how can they ever live peacefully among them? The geth are too numerous and too dangerous. They can't live together in the same society. It just won't work. One day, without warning, the geth may decide that the quarians are dangerous again and wham, a new quarian genocide.
Or if you are so inclined, consider it from the geth perspective. Living with the creators would leave them vulnerable to an attack without warning as well. A quarian may decide that the lingering threat of the geth is too much and devise a way to eliminate them. He'll probably use the same logic I've employed in this post.
It's a never ending cycle of distrust.

I was under the impression that the Geth wanted to be isolated in a Dyson sphere, away from Rannoch.Saphra Deden wrote...

No word on where that is or when it will be complete. In the mean time they're crawling all over Rannoch.

Theres tons of possibilities; The geth could live on another planet until its finished, or another region of Rannoch, away from the quarians. The point is, it will only be for a limited time. I also think the quarians views on the geth may become less hostile if the geth allow them to live on Rannoch.Saphra Deden wrote...

We also dont know how long the sphere will take, which is a major factor in this argument, so continuing to argue is kind of pointless.

No, they're not. Legion stated that the geth live on space stations near the former quarian worlds.

They do both: they still have a significant presence on the planet, cleaning up stuff and otherwise.Rolling Flame wrote...

No, they treat the planet as a monument for the war. They gain their resources in space so they don't disturb the planet.Dean_the_Young wrote...

Yes, the reason for the rachni war is because of the reapers, and the rachni on noveria are hostile because they haven't been grown with their queen, as she sayes they never learned to sing thats why they are hostile.Saphra Deden wrote...
No, she
does not. That theory doesn't add up anyway since if rachni were
indoctrinated Sovereign wouldn't have needed the queen to locate the Mu
Relay; he'd already know where it was.

You're right, I guess they use ESP to clean up the quarian worlds. My mistake.

Well that's not really true, Legion sayes that there are only some mobile platforms wich takes care of rannoch, cleaning it after the morning war, the geth themselves lives on spacestations so they can mine asteroids
So you admit they are on the planet then. Good.
Regardless, space stations in the same system is still too close for comfort. Quarians will need space stations too after all and will need the same resources as well.

Everybody wins
Word. Although if the Quarians are a liability versus the Reapers. I have no problem letting them fall and then having the humans take over the Geth instead of them.
