I'm missing the ' What, why Shepard hasn't been gay for 2 games straight'. But I'm guessing it's to cater to a different kind of shooter fan.

It's just plain silly, what's next gay Salarians?

Edit: I really hope they don't bisexualise the existing characters (well Zaeed is fine) cause it is kind of strange of having talked to Kaidan, Garrus, Thane and Jacob that they now think that was because I was interessted.

I really don't care, as I won't be exploring a m/m romance anyway, although I have a female shep who ramances Liara, but technically Liara isn't a woman.

I only hope BW makes clear which lines starts a romance interest, bc if I talk to a male character about random stuff and he makes a hit on me, I will cain him, or send him to the reapers as a gift.

Alternatively, you could be mature and just go "dude, I'm flattered, but straight."

Like with Zevran in Dragon Age.

It's good that they are including this. I just hope its for new characters and not old ones.

I'm happy enough to see it happen. Don't know if I'll try a s/s playthrough but it's an option, I guess.

Just hope the entire crew doesn't turn bi. I'd be happy if we get a couple of new, gay LI's.

Gay Bromances are really straight. Gilgamesh agreed, don't bother him about it.

No. I do NOT want them retconning and ruining pre-established characters.

Funny, I always thought the game was about saving the galaxy from a malevolent and genocidal invading fleet of living dreadnoughts. The relationship aspect of these games does add an interesting aspect and realism to the games but the undo focus some fans have for this is... unsettling at times. This from a gamer who has pursued the lesbian romance in both DA1 and 2 and let's face it, no matter how much BW pretends otherwise, the Asari are female (everything about them is feminine) and my femsheps who pursued a relationship with Liara are essentially lesbian as well.. and that's cool! Whether it's with Liara in ME1 and 2 or Merill in DA2, the relationships were very emotional and genuine as a female character. Good on BW for having the guts to include but let's remember what the game is really about. After all, what.is Alexander the Great remembered most for? That he allegedly had relations with other men or that he took on most of the known world and KICKED IT'S ASS!!!

'Twas ridiculous for them to not be included from the beginning. I congratulate ME for finally catching up with DA.

I'm fine with that if
1. There is no automatic flirting aka Jacob and FemShep.
2. None of established characters is retconed.
3. Not every LI is bisexual/homosexual.

I've played DA2 and same sex love interests didn't really seem so destroying or out of character for squaddies as much as I thought it would. So sure NP.

Just make sure when they do don't railroad me between being an LI or a jerk like in some cases in DA2. I don't want to loose my friendships just because I said no.

I would welcome some gay/bi characters in ME3, as long as Shepard doesn't all of a sudden becomes bi as well (an option I think the poll is lacking, what a pity). It would be ridiculous beyond measure

Clarifying question: What's the difference between "I approve, but only with new characters" and "I approve, but without former opposite-sex LI's"??

Both of the seem to be two differently worded ways of saying that S/S romance should not involve heterosexual characters in ME1 and 2 that turn gay/bi in ME3.

Difference=1st means only new chracters like James Vega.
2nd means that none LIs like Kasumi or Grunt are allowed, but Garrus and Miranda are not.

I do approve, though I'll probably not do male s/s romances in my playthroughs.

Yeah, I couldn't control my laughter when I saw the mods of same sex romance for male Shepard. So while good for those that wanted them, I probably won't use the option.

As someone who supports content for homosexual gamers and sympathisizes for the difficulty and hardship much of society gives them, even I couldn't help but chuckle childishly at the sight of man shep & Garrus together... it just seemed so out of place for Garrus.

Modded Kaidan & even Jacob with male shep didn't even cause me to bat an eye... but something about seeing Garrus in a same sex romance just sort of left me speechless for a brief moment

I don't mind BW adding this, though it is not something i will do myself. I just hope these romances are noticeably triggered. ME1 had a huge problem where it was easy to trigger a romance just by simply being polite. Hopefully they'll sort that for ME3. I don't like the idea of Garrus hitting on me just because i treat him like my "go to" guy.

As a femshep you had to be real careful around Jacob in ME2.  Generally the middle/neutral replies avoided any unintentional flirting.

I felt so embarassed the very first time my femshep spoke to Jacob on the Normandy... Shep automatically drops into a sultry / seductive tone if you choose paragon or renegade dialogue with him... I was stammering "Wh-wha... whaaat? NO! Bad Shepard! You just met this dude and 5 minutes ago told him you don't trust him and now you sound like a hooker trying to pickup a customer? "

It's not safe to pick anything but middle / neutral options with Jacob if you just want to be friends with him heh... and even then femshep always greets him with that damned sultry tone (forcing to hammer spacebar to skip her dialogue the second you initiate conversation with him).

Seems they forgot to ask Hale to record a greeting line for Jacob that was just a neutral or normal greeting like for all other characters.

On a side note, does anyone pretend that femshep romancing Liara isn't a lesbian relationship? Yeah, I know the asari aren't technically female but come on, everything about them is feminine.

If gay or lesbian romance is forced upon me or I have to thread every convo super carefully to avoid it, then really no.

Also if such characters as Tali, Garrus, Grunt, Zaeed, suddenly become lesbian or gay, than f****k that ****.

Also instead of making some half-assed romances, I would like Bioware to concentrate of more important stuff, like gameplay, story and such.

Options 3 and 4 pretty much say the same thing. "Only new LI"s" and "Without old LI's".  Because if it's only with new LI's, then it's without old LI's, and if it's without old LI's, then it's only with new LI's.

Forced upon you? You're serious?
