also note.. DA and ME are very different when it comes to the LI..

In the case of DA, some of your party members are more inclined to ask you; which you must turn down.

In the case of ME, your party members are waiting for you to ask, and even the naive Liara in ME1 was unsure of what she said in regards for having feels for you; and that still requires you go up to talk to her - CONSTANTLY.

So if anything; in ME3, your male Sheps won't need a butt biotic field because if anything, YOU the player are going to need to coax the love out of your fellow male squad mates.

So the only thing forced, are people made up outrage. I honestly don't think Kaidan is going to turn Anders on us.

Glad to be of help. If it helps to understand where all the vitriol comes from...this dude is a character who pisses people off for a lot of reasons. He's a complainer and harps on your party members a lot,  and he used to be a pretty cool, funny guy in a previous game. This dude just makes people angry all around for plot reasons, but I think Bioware has learned by now.

EDIT: The change in character is completely unreleated to orientation though. Forgot to add that.
