Hi everyone,

it seems I have encountered a variation of the open tray/disc unreadable error. First of all: all other discs work fine. The error is limited to ME2 Disc 2. Whenever I insert that disc it is recognized correctly at first but about 5 seconds into game or after the EA screen (when starting the game from disc 2), the Xbox notifies me that the disc is unreadable. To conclude: Game is recognized on dashboard, when started gives the unreadable screen after EA logo or when in game after 5 seconds or so.

The disc has some minor scratches now from my cleaning efforts. However, the error happened right from the first time I took the disc out of the box. I can't see any serious damage to the silver layer so I guess that the disc is fine. Tried the systems cache emptying and also had a lens cleaner disc in the Xbox both to no avail.

I really would hate to buy a PC version to continue a game I already purchased with good money. I hope someone got a helpful tip for me.

I have the same issue. I have the Collector's Edition and Disc 1 plays fine. Disc 2 fails either immediately or within 20 seconds or so when I put it in. Here's my thread:
