Many players do or don't want s/s romances and are in heated and long debates about it. Many are scared that they will get hit by their favourite bro/sis characters. However, we have to give the people who want s/s romances a chance.

What anti s/s romancers want
No s/s romance in the game at all, not even the option.

What s/s romancers want:
S/S romance in game

These are two groups that are hard to please as they both clash with each other like good and evil - not saying that s/s is evil and straight is good.

So i propose that bioware introduces a DLC that allows gamers who want s/s romances to have it in their game. For those who don't want s/s romances, they just buy the game and don't have to worry about s/s romances at all. Since you have to choose to get it by dowenloading the DLC

The S/S DLC WOULD BE FREE, of course, and be avaliable on the day that the game is launched.

Advantages:

+       I believe that this option would please both sides confortably since Bioware announced s/s romances in game.
+      People like me who don't want the option at all. Who want their game cleansed of it - harsh i know, but the possibility of having it in my game scares the hell out of me and many others. Don't have it at all, eliminating this fear.

Disadvantages:

+      Those who don't have the internet would not be able to have the option avaliable and would have to get the internet and xbox gold membership to do so, but not many people who have ME are without internet connection and a gold membership are they?

Who supports this?

I would like to have as much success on this as possible and i would appreciate any help to improve this 'solution.'

They aren't being charged a penny extra, unless they don't already have internet connection and the ability to acquire the ability to download the DLC.

Indeed.

Though let's at least be fair about it and take all the romances out and sell them as DLC. That would be the fairest and nicest thing to do <3

I appreciate your goodwill, but I really don't see why people can't simply tolerate s/s romances.
Assuming of course that said romances don't wreck previous NPC characterizations (you're gonna have to trust Bio on this one. Personally, I trust them) and that the players find it in their hearts, in case an NPC comes onto them, to simpy turn said NPC down rather than freak out and write a ****ton of rage threads about it.

I agree with this, I don't like good games being turned into half arsed and completely unrealistic dating sims.

Let these be optional add ons for those who want them.

What about those who have no access, or limited access to the internet?

Besides whats so bad about having all the OPTIONAL content in game?

Or just have a text option in the game where you can express to someone like Kelly (if she's alive) what your sexual preferences are and this acts as an unlock in the game. If you say you like same sex they are unlocked, if you say you don't they aren't.

Not my idea by the way... we're way ahead of you in the Garrus thread...

I wasn't aware Xbox Live and the interent was free.  And yes let's waste bandwich on something that it shouldn't need to be wasted on.

If s/s romances have to do this stupid crap so do the o/s romances.

Downloadable romances for everyone. :wizard:

Kelly wouldn't exactly run around the run and tell everyone your straight or gay. You could turn your sexual orientation halfway through the game. Plus it would take more coding to do such a thing. I think that my suggestion would save more time for the developers - maybe.

Makes sense. And if your in a wasteland without internet or Xbox Live you probably aren't asking for such things anyway.

I'm being pratical here. Bioware is not going to waste bandwidth on a FREE DLC that they DO NOT profit from.

Listen to all the s/s shippers out there, I don't hate you guys but stay away from my games.

In your opinion it is. I think its a terrible idea.

Oh I know! Lets take femshep out and make her a free DLC!  OH OH OH! Lets take out all the LI's period! Make them download only.

Bet the people without internet will be happy.

The boldedad underline portion is the ONLY way I would EVER support this idea. Oh and everyone would become bisexual since you know I have to download it and those that don't like it don'thave to see it. That's a reasonable compromise.

99.9% of people have internet I don't think that's a reasonable argument.

The best argument is we are dealing with a company here they arent going to do stuff for free.

Ok, you make a point about internet access.

So, how about a friggin' toggle in the options when the game starts?

I am not sure about the people in 'wasteland' would be too pleased about this. I think the number of people who have access to a pc or games console and ME3 would not have the internet - getting the online membership would be harder if you have strict parents etc or not much pocket money.

As to those who don't have the internet, well erm. I have no idea and the possibility of that happening would be miniscule i think - i hope.
