That's stupid, they could simply add a switch in the gameplay Menu or asking at the very beggining of the game...

Origins : Earth-born, Spacer, Colonist
Behaviour : Sole Survivor, War Hero, Ruthless
Sexuality : Homosexual, Bisexual, Heterosexual.
classes : [...]

is that hard ?!?

Oh, I like that idea. Simple.

That's why it shouldn't matter, Bioware might as well make all the romances DLC. problem solved for everybody.

Agreed. I won't have to deal with any unwanted hetero advances, no one will have to deal with any unwanted homosexual advances. Win-win.

Explain why they are insulting.

Having a seperate DLC for S/S romance is like saying..

"You have a different heritage to me, but I'll let you in this bar if you only use the entrance around the side...the one hidden around the back so no-one else can see you come in."

Next you'll be saying there's nothing wrong with homosexual toilets and seats in theatres and entrances to buildings, always in the worst areas, off to the side and separated from the normal, main heterosexual areas.

Let's be honest folks. The s/s crap will only work with new characters. I REFUSE to lose my straight characters because you guys want to stick your dick in Kaiden's ****.

I don't care how politically incorrect this is. YOU CAN GET YOUR GAY CHARACTERS just don't touch my straight ones!!!

NO MORE COMPROMISES.

Zeimos you have to be the most sexually frustrated person in existence. First you make that post about how Tali is a ho because she flirts, and now your freaking out because people might want to persue a relationship with the same gender.
For the love of god, find someone to go down on you. Immediately.

Here's a compromise: I'll not ban folks for continuing to create new threads on this topic instead of joining similar discussions already in progress, and y'all try to not make it sound like gay romances are the "mature adult" version of playground cooties that will kick your puppy if you but catch even a smidgeon of an inviting wink by a same sex romanceable. Okay?

End of line.

Because to people who aren't opposed to homosexuality. The idea that heterosexuality is standard and that homosexuality is an add on for those who want it... is insulting. Homosexuality is real, it exist. Making it the standard choice to have homosexuality non-existant is an insult.

hopefully by the time I submit this someone smart will have worded this better.

I r dum.

Not at all. It requires great wisdom to come to this conclusion.

The OP's point is this

We have the following groups
A. Who want the game left alone
B. Who want access to s/s romances
C. Who wouldn't mind either way because they are mature enough to understand sexual dynamics

The OP is simply trying to offer a compromise that he feels will work for all parties. It may not work, but at least he's thinking and not yelling.

These pro-S/S people consider themselves reasonable and open-minded. In reality, they are the ones doing most of the insulting and trolling while we are trying to find some compromises.

The problem is the *compromises* are insulting in the first place.

Why? We had characters who never showed any interest in same-sex relationships athough they had plenty of chances, and you want them changed now, after 80+ hours of ME 1&2. No,I truly don't think you should feel insulted. Not one bit

Never? Tali has most of the same dialogue toward femshep as she does toward man shep right up to the point of romance. Other characters were even slated as an option for such a romance before beging cut last minute.

In any case Casey Hudson hinted that new LI might be introduced outside of permanent squadmates. Delegating them to DLC causes the same problems.

Or they could just have it in the game but you need to initiate it yourself? You want an entire character gone and not talk to them at all just because you can romance the SS? You don’t have to romance them. It doesn’t matter if the option is there, just don’t use it. What is the point of making it a separate dlc? Also you know some of us don’t have unlimited internet. It dose actually add cost to have to download ****.

And again I ask can I have all bi LIs with that? Since if you don't want to see the content in that case you don't have to?
